I have a 2003 Derbi GP1 LC 50cc and I have a big issue !!!! I just bought a project bike $300 that didnt run but only has 6,000. That is something I'll figure out but the issue I have is when I put antifreeze in it just drained all over the floor :-( I dont have a lift so I didnt see where it was coming out from. I didnt want to get antifreeze all over me on the ground. What I do know it was coming from the left side between the engine and transmission? ?
Suggestions?
Thanks

If this is the same engine as the one on the Predator the water pump runs off of that side of the crank shaft and there are seals on a shaft that runs through. Pull the CVT and see if that's where the coolant is coming from.

pinkscoot they might look the same but the 2003 GP1 has the Piaggio engine.

Sorry, I don't know those engines. If you can't see it and no one tells you there's a bleeder or drain, use water and try again if you can't figure it out otherwise. Sounds like whatever you add is gonna drain out anyway.

Use a mirror and a light to look underneath and have someone dump in water with a pan to catch it.

Yeah I need to buy a pan and I'll use water this time. But it just dumped out, not trickle but dumped. This project for $300 just got more expensive :-(

Sounds like a hose not connected.

Like said above, it's probably a hose not connected. Even if the drain plug was missing. It wouldn't dump coolant that fast.

I'm not sure if those engines have a freeze plug on them or not. Definitely get under it and look and see what you find.

so I poured water in this time got under the scooter with a pan and work light. I have two leeks, on the rite side small leak where the stator is.
The big leak is the left side its the water pump seal is gone. Without splitting the case how can I do that job?
If anyone can tell me how to post pics and videos I'll post the leaks.
Thanks everyone

well the vidoes are to large to email from my phone and when I log onto this page from my cell it doesnt give me the option to insert ?
Anyone have info on installing the water pump seals without splitting the case?
As for the leak on the stator side I'll have to pull the cover and see whats going on in there
