Can anyone recommend a solar powered trickle charger? Anybody had luck using one?
The scooter is stored in a shed 50 feet from an outlet that is inside the house. I live in an apt, and the landlord was generous to provide an old shed. No leaving it for long periods of time.
The chargers I looked at were mainly for cars. Pop in the cigarette ligher, leave it on the seat, no problem? meaning the lead is to short. Ugh!
Don't want anything to shout "Scooter!"

The one Harbor Freight sells has a decent length lead, and has both the socket and clips. I can't say exactly how long, but it is far more than enough to reach the windshield of a truck so it may be long enough for your needs. I got one for my brother a few years ago, and he loves it. I plan to get one for my scooter, at least when the new battery starts needing attention, or I stop riding for extended periods. Like my upcoming knee replacements. www.harborfreight.com/15-watt-solar-battery-charger-62449.htmlLook for Harbor Freight 20% coupons to make it even less expensive. ** disclaimer: I work at HFT.

Splice in a longer wire -- someone I know did that for their scooter so the solar panel could hang on the outside of the garage while the scoot was safe inside.

I have no probem making an exention card. I think that will be better than splicing in the unforseen need to take it back for warrentee. I'll take a look at the Harbor Freight one. Besidess I ride pretty much year round maybe more often now that I'm working part-time, and have more play time. Thanks for the info, guys.
