It would sure look better if I knew how to paint. Looked good when I left it, but turned to crap overnight. I set the blinkers in with glue last night so that could set up overnight, never noticed issues with the paint. It was midnight and I was tired so I'm sure I just didn't notice with the light I had. Came back out at 5am and it looks kinda crappy. It's actually not that bad in person, but the photo sure makes the blemishes pop. It's a damn shame I'm not competent with paint, this coulda been a decent looking scoot. Oh, I spray tinted the signals too so they'd blend in better when not lit. These signals are awesome for $6 a piece. I assume they have resistors built in or something, because they work with the stock flasher and no other mods or bulbs plugged in. They don't flash on and off completely, but rather stay very dim any time the signal is on and then flash bright like a normal blinker. My panels look pretty horrible. By some miracle, the paint turned out well on these when first done. Unfortunately, it sat for so long that dust sat in bad and I piled stuff on the scoot etc... so it looks pretty rough now. This is what 2 years of dust looks like (see front fender). I did have it running for 2 miles last year, but I never bothered to clean it off completely. Since I'm so bad at painting, I decided to paint it again. I started out by hitting the insides with flat black. It looked odd when you looked up under it before to be white or yellow. I don't really care if this part turns out great, just want the inside to not be bright. Once that's dry, I guess I'll proceed to sand and generally screw things up. lol

It'll be a bit still. I went to spray tint the headlight and the paint cracked bad. Had it sanded and was buffing it back to gloss. Burnt it. Trashed it. Ordered a new one from Scrappy and was later informed that it's a 2 week backorder.

How bad is it burnt? Will it get you by until then?

It probably would have, but that was last week and it's already at the dump. I wasn't real happy after all the work to get it back to normal and it went straight into the garbage with no thought.
I suppose the bright side is, I still have plenty to do on T1. I still have plenty to do to T2. I still haven't even got the speakers back on and re-adjusted on the Venus. There's sure plenty of stuff to keep me busy if I'm not out speeding. lol

Well, that was a disaster. The paint ended up cracking, bad on a couple of panels. I'll be getting more sandpaper and doing every panel over again. Oh joy.

I take it painting's not your thing Brent? I'm normally too impatient for it to dry properly which usually results in runs and all sorts of other monstrosities.

I hate it. I. Hate. It. Hate.
I can deal with most other stuff, but painting and prepping etc... is bound to piss me off. It never fails. If it weren't a freakish;y warm 75 degree day (part of why I thought it would be a good day to paint... turns out there's no such thing), and I wasn't about to BBQ some chicken, I'd probably be really mad rather than just deeply saddened. lol

All sanded again and painted. I started out with the paint I was using and it cracked again. Stopped and switched to Fusion that I had leftover from the SunL. It never looked very glossy, but it was pretty tough on there. It seemed to take OK. The garage isn't well enough lit to really tell how it will look at night, which makes spraying lots of fun too. Hopefully it'll look decent when I can see it tomorrow. :paranoid:

I was using DupliColor. I tried a primer on one panel after the first go round and it cracked too. Fusion is the only thing that hasn't cracked so far... it may be cracking as we speak though. :scared:

Not bad, not great. It's definitely not that glossy, but it's not cracked and such. I think they could have looked better in spots had I been able to see where I was spraying, but I'm just happy it's over at this point. lol Way better than what they were when I started.
