I burnt up my stator on my 150. Long story, but my Dc source has no output. My question is what is the difference in 6/8 pole stator. And can I replace my 8 pole with a 6 poe. Thanks.

more output is the diffrnece but you will need an 8pole stator 8 pole fly wheel and an 8 pole reg/rec
you also need to note if the new stator is a full dc set up as you may need a diffrent cdi and some wire work for the head lights to work

I appreciate your response. I know almost all electical systems on these, I just was curious of the 6 pole stator working with a native 8 pole flywheel.

I'd stick to matching what you had and avoid further issues. Been there done that.

Go to 11pole and 7pin stator , depending on the ID of your flywheel you may be able to use the stock magneto. I have done this a few times, add extra lights and have plenty extra power to charge your battery.
