Looks like scrappy is out of the 50mm stuff. Had to get a 47.6 with stock head.

Should i run a double head gasket to avoid this happening again? I wouldn't think that is necessary, butI really can't afford for it to happen again. How coulda4t motor over rev? Could the exhaust affect the engines rpm? I know it does on 2t's. If the valves are adjusted correctly this shouldn't happen i would think. I'm just worried this could happen again. I need some expert advice. I would like to note,i just noticed the open element filter had fallen off the carb. Even so though, with an 88 jet it shouldn't have done this. An open element filter doesn't provide that much restriction.

that was a valve failure that blew the hole in the top of the piston did you find the top of the valve did the retainer fail did the cam slip and change the timing and yes poor valve adjusment could allow the piston to hit the valve bend break and tear shit up
it has nothing to do with the pipe its just an odd hapening

Don't think the retainer failed as it's still holding the valve on the spring. I can almost pull the spring and valve out of the top of the head. I didn't see the valve head. I assume it might be in the crankcase. Can i get to it? Wad thinking of buying am extended magnet and obviously draining the oil. What else should i do to prep for the new parts?
