Hi im new here (i got the website off of a video on youtube) and i need help with my omni omx 500, i bought this used and when i got it the thing wouldnt start at all. I ended up buying a new ignition coil, battery, and a spark plug, so that pretty much fixed 90% of the issues with it. Now my only issue is keeping it running, adjusting the idle doesnt do much if the idle is high it starts out full throttle and shuts off and if its low it idles for a few seconds and once again shuts off (no amount of tinkering with the idle helps). Plus every time i start it i have to use starting fluid or it wont start, I dont know alot about mechanics at all and i was hoping someone on here could give me some advice on how to keep it running. Im willing to skype, talk on the phone, e-mail, or talk on here. This isnt just a project i need this to get back and forth so any help is greatly appriciated! also there is a tube coming from the rear tire that leaks a greenish blue liquid most people claimed this is a coolant but i need and want to know what this is thats draining from my moped. Thanks!

Got a pic of the tube? Nothing should be coming off of or out of your tire. When I do a search it appears that the QMX 500 is a 1E41QMB vertical air cooled engine with a chain drive. If that is the case, you shouldn't have any engine coolant. It could be from the transmission. That is a two-stroke engine, so there are no valves to adjust. I'd start off by cleaning the carburetor. Clean all passages/jets with carburetor cleaner and compressed air. Be very careful not to lose anything when you take the carb apart.

Yeah, that's the chain drive transmission. There's oil under the side cover for the transmission and they also drive an oil pump for the engine back there. I suspect that hose should be leading to the carb or intake manifold to supply oil. These two-strokes need oil mixed in with the incoming air/fuel.

So could that be causing my problem?

If it's not getting lubrication it's not gonna run right and the engine won't last long. I've never worked on that style of engine, but read and seen a bit about them from the forum. Trying to see if I can find a connection diagram somewhere for you that shows where the hose goes. I'll post if I can find one. If not, look over the carb and intake for a free nipple (which could also be a leak, making your prob still worse).

I can't seem to find one. If you happen to have a pic of both sides of the carb/intake area, one of us should be able to tell you where to hook the oil line if you can't tell.

Okay, The picture of me pointing to a tube is one coming from the bottom of the gas tank but is not the gas hose. And the other picture with the one loose tube is the one i was pointing at and in the background you can see two nipples that dont have anything on them. This is a view from the carbs right side.

That hose you're pointing at should be a vacuum hose. The petcock on the fuel tank needs vacuum from the engine or it shouldn't allow fuel to flow. Looks like it should go on where it's almost on. The front port I believe is an overflow, so nothing needs to attach there. You may have a port somewhere on the case where the oil could attach. Not sure.

I have looked for a place where the tube should go (the one that was leaking) and havent found it yet unfortunately

Sorry i just assumed you had a 4t but if the hose is leaking greenish fluid that is probably 2t oil and most go to the pump or 2t oil reservoir, from the picture i see that the oil line from the pump is connected but you need to have the airbox on for it to run properly so spray some fluid in it put the airbox back on then try to start it and see what it does from there
