I bought a 2003 Saloor Gas scooter identical to the one below. (I am at work without a picture of it at this moment).
After scouring the internet for schematics, or wiring diagrams, I have found zero that have the components that this one has. All of them I found have a CDI controller, and/or other more involved electronics.
In the belly of this scooter is the battery, starter relay (electric and pull start) a voltage regulator/rectifier, and the 3 pin AC Charger port (looks like a mic/XLR outlet).
The only wiring to the 33cc motor is the starter wire, and a 20awg pair of wires that I traced to realize this was the 'kill switch' to ground out the motor when key is put into the off position.
Issue is that when plugging in the proper charger into the scooter, the rectifier HUMS LOUDLY, so I bought the identical (in appearance) rectifier off of eBay, and after using a volt meter found out this one is definitely wired differently, (I kept blowing a 10AMP in line fuse anytime it was plugged in).
My question is what is the voltage regulator used for/needed for when
1. there is no CDI and apparently no AC charging system
2. The wall charger puts out under 1amp 12v DC to trickle charge/maintain the battery.
Only 'electronic' bit on the bike is a headlight.
I continue to look for diagrams or schematics, but they all have wires to/from CDI, wires from the stator, coil, etc... Can someone help me know what I should be finding on the 4 pins of the rectifier? BTW, my wire colors do NOT match all the ones I see online.
Wires on mine? red, yellow, green, green...
Thanks for the help, or any direction you can provide.. There IS continuity between 2 pins (top/bottom on left side) on the old rectifier, new one I bought it is top/bottom on the right side...
