Ive gotta scoot in the shop now giving me a bit of trouble. Its a Baja SC50 with the oddball Minarelli style CVT.
Anyhow, ive got the scoot running good but the power was low. After going through all the usual things I discovered the slide in the carb was not moving when I revved the scoot. I checked the diaphragm and it looks good to the eye but will not move when throttle is applied. If I open it with a small screwdriver it will rev up like it should.
Anyone ever have one do this? I am going to try another carb and hope it runs good. I do not have another slide for this carb to try.

The wonderful SC50 I've worked on for a year on and off for my buddy has a Walbro carb, and he's complaining about a "flooding" like condition. It would make my day, week, or month if that thing would stop acting up and stay away LOL Anyhow back to the subject of your post, all I have is a small box of junk carbs, is the slide in the one your working on a cylinder shape or a cylinder with a flat guide on each side?

Vacuum port in the bottom of the slide is clear? Is the slide loose in the bore maybe? Never had this one happen without it being something obvious.

Shakerdriver is being so kind as to bring me one over today. If for some reason I still don't get it right I might need one?
Thanks for the help. I need to look at it as I might have missed something plugged, or a tear in the diaphragm? This scoot did suck the dried up airfilter through the engine so who knows where it all went?
