I'm really not a fan of stock petcocks, so I'd ditch that but I don't know that you have to. Try the fuel cap trick first.
Could be the float height is set a little low and you're running out of fuel. Lines and filter look good?

ok that is good info
but onn the zuma the petcock paced over the rear tire
it would be nicer to mave it to a more conveut pace

I *think* you are kinda "caught" though. The petcock should mount to the tank with a couple of screws through a kind of triangular metal bit, the only thing I could find to replicate that is a petcock off of a Raptor. You simply trim (or cut) a hole in the inner fender to let you deal with it, you do get the bonus of a "reserve" position, if for some reason you do away with the fuel gauge.

My 08 doesn't smoke. Unless you know something I don't you can't see the oil level in a Zuma all I can do is add to see how much I've used until the light comes on. 10 gallons at 40:1= 1 quart of oil roughly. Have you added to see how much it took to top off? If it wasn't getting oil it would seize. I've got around 4000 miles on mine and have not gone through 1 gallon of oil yet not counting what the dealer put in to get me home. 10 gallons of gas is like 600 miles if you aren't using oil you are in trouble

These oil pumps r made 2 put out the exact amount of oil the motor needs at any given throttle position all of the time. You wont see much oil leaving the tank. Only a drop every couple of .minutes or so.

Yes u can adjust the pump if it is the type that has a cable running from the throttle. U can see how here 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/3151/avoiding-soft-seize-pump-adjustmentThank you usmcdoc, for posting this vital information, here and elsewhere
