Hello to everyone I hope this forum will be able to help me out.
A bit of background:
Bout Yamaha neos 1998 50cc stock scooter. Was everything perfect. After some time driving and being happy left it untouched for two weeks. After these two weeks could not start in normal position. Realized that it starts if I put the scooter on the side (left). Attempts to sort the issue:
changed petrol and vacuum lines, changed pet cock, cleaned carburettor, changed air filter. No change. After more research found out that it could be overflowing and decided to adjust the float level. As it turns out it was not so easy due to the float/needle connection.
My carb (dellorto) looks like this img.photobucket.com/albums/v204/DopefishLives/sr50/carb/phbn12_08.jpg
Inside the needle there is a spring that I do not know how to adjust. Bought a repair kit. After installation the float was still not parallel to the carb like the guy was explaining in one of the videos on this forum. However now I am able to start it in a normal position but still very difficult. Need to kick it for 5 min or so. Electric starter works but does not start the scooter. When it starts and I try to drive it revs up but no movement for 5 seconds or so (sounds like its trying to burn excessive petrol) and then it takes off, but very slowly. After first start starts perfectly with electric starter.
After that I changed new cylinder kit (stock), bought new vario (stock) 9.5g weights, new contra spring (red 32kg), new clutch (red springs) Before the belt was 752mm (top speed 65 - 70km/h) now on the new belt no numbers and top speed decreased to 50-55 km/h. also I can see on new vario that the travel distance is shorter than before. But acceleration is not so good. Tried to put 5g weigts instead of 9.5 like before - no change.
Bought new carb (no name - money spent well) but no luck even starting it with new carb, so took all the jets and putted into new carb, starts harder than before. I am so tired of this and hope someone can help me out, at the moment want to push my scooter of the cliff, one problem - no cliffs around
Found used carb for sale 17.5mm dellorto, considering to buy it, price very cheap.
Thank you in advance for any help.
