You need to change the contra/torque spring. 1k or 1.5k at most. Those red clutch springs may be a little stiff. The gearing on the Zuma is a hurdle. So once you get the cvt in tune you'll want to do them next. A tach will help you tune the cvt.

I think I have yellow clutch Springs in mine with the stock contra and 6 gram rollers. No belt slip good take off and the clutch grabs just before the belt starts to shift

You could try a 1k but the stock is fine. Moofus knows his Zumas.

Plus if you are using a Tecnigas or any tuned performance pipe...you most likely will need to upjet..since the engine breaths better now.. More exhaust out = needs more air and fuel in... Make sense?..

tune the rollers. dr pulleys push a little higher. swap out the stock variator for an aftermarket one.

tune the rollers. dr pulleys push a little higher. swap out the stock variator for an aftermarket one. All that might help a little but this bike is handicapped with super deep gears. Best money spent would be to re gear. All other mods won't return as expected until the regear Sent from my SPH-L720 using proboards

19mm carb and doppler pipe
6g rolers ( 6.5g are stock ) yellow com. spring with upgraded 3 show clutck
I alsow run a tack so I knoe what RPS it is turnimg
on your set up try stock rolers .. yellow com. spring ( maby stock clutch springs )
I run stock gears because my 400lbs needs it to get moving --- it will spin the tire with my 200lbs fends

i guess. tuning the variator twice with roller weights sucks.

I don't understand that Rexxd. Rollers are like jets. They're simple to do and you work your way up or down until the performance peaks, declines and then go back a step. Change a torque spring and do it all again. I know I'm one of the demented ones that enjoys wrenching as much as riding but I can't imagine it sucking or I would leave it alone.

then why tell him not to do it? moofus said. and i said install a variator. so, your saying? that a variator doesnt add any performance? all i said, since he said dont do a variator, sliders, was because, the gears are so limiited. limited i guess, performance gain is what he siad. i said i guess. tuning rollers twice sucks. it does. so, your saying a variator doesnt add any performance gain? do it once, then dont worry about it, or dont do it, do it later if you would but it wouldnt perform any better? because your not giving this guy any perofrmance tips. i gave him the only ones i knew.
back to me. try a variator and sliders. sliders give more performance than rollers. and a variator, adds performance too. yea if you changed the performance killing gears, youd have to change the roller weights later on too, i think. and retune. get more rollers. if performance is that bad off, wait, until you change the gears. but i cant see a variator being of no use.
most people who want performance from goign 35mph, usually want to see, oh 40-45. a variator usually will add some 5mph. and then lightened roller weights will add you 2-3mph if not more. and sliders, can add a few mph also. thats what ive seen.
are you saying that variators do nothing? no perforamcnce benefit at all? their a waste? man i been wasting my money, but the perforamnce ive seen sure showS!

Nobody said a variator is useless. It's one if the first mods I did. On a scoot with good gears! When gears max out that's it. If I add your variator and roller numbers up that's 10+ mph. Come on man. I didn't realize your tuning rollers twice comment was sarcastic. I'm not sure if that's better or worse.

You locked in tight with those gears man. You gotta have the tranny built up tight first or your done.
