Hello All!
I was wondering if y'all could help me read this plug chop. I think I'm getting really close to having this scoot in tune, but don't feel I have enough experience reading the plug yet. This was a brand new spark plug. Put about an hour of riding on it. 20 miles or so.
I just did a bunch of stuff to it last night;
-Installed new (non squish type) stock cylinder head. No head gasket. Copper spray only. (stripped spark plug threads in the original )
-Installed exhaust gasket. (Didn't have one installed previously)
-Removed carbon from cylinder exhaust port. Wasn't a ton, maybe 1/16 inch to 1/8 inch thick.
-Put carb needle clip back to middle slot.
She is really screamin' now! Pipe "hit" is back plus some.
Running best it ever has except this: In the last 1/4 or 1/5 or so of throttle it is "dead" or kind of "cutting out". Cutting out is the better description. If I back off the throttle a bit I can get it to accelerate more and kind of feather into WOT slowly. I noticed it seemed the longer (hotter?) I rode it without stop light or whatever it improved somewhat. Few times on long stretches of road it was almost normal. Doing 9k-9200 rpm at around 42mph. If I were to just crack WOT from stop it just kinda "cuts out" on its way to throttling up.. no noticable "bog" or "sputter".. just "cutting out". Maybe this is considered a sputter??? lol
Just to add as much info as I can; I moved the clip down/needle up on carb few days ago but put it back to middle position as this "cutting out" started then... same jet, needle clip back to middle and now this "cutting out" at WOT.
I see the caramel color so I think that's good, but is all the black around it normal?
I have bigger jets to try (90,95,100) but none smaller, as I ordered these in preparation of the arrival of the BBK.
Oh and also- no pre-detonation or pinging from going to no head gasket... Running quite awesome except WOT...
