8-)First , i'm new here and want to say thanks for this very helpful forum, And especially to 90GTVert for all his videos on the taotao 50cc scooter. I have a 2013 taotao 50cc that has about 1600 miles on it now that i purchased new. its pretty much stock except for a 20mm scrappydogs carburetor, and a performance cdi i just installed. I have noticed a little bit of engine oil in the vacuum line from the intake to the vacuum side of the fuel petcock. wich brings me to my question, I noticed on 90GTVert's video he put in 750 ml of engine oil but in my owners manual and all the other manuals ive seen it said 0.9 l.liters of oil so ive been putting in 0.9 liters or 900 ml of engine oil and i'm wondering why the differance ? normally i would just not think about it twice and just put in the 900ml that the manuals say, however, after watching countless videos posted by 90GTVert and seeing his attention to detail i have a tendancy to go with 90GTVert's suggestion, so im wondering what would cause a little oil to be in the vacuum line that goes from the intake to the vacuum fuel petcock ? do i have too much oil in it ? If i dont have too much oil in it what would be the cause of a little oil in that vacuum line, i can just see a little oil at the intake vacuum line and it goes up the vacuum line maybe an inch or so.

oil should read between the two lines on the dipstick with scooter on centerstand, as far as i know. *edit* ive seen quotes for oil capacity ranging from 600ml to 900ml (my manual said 900ml)... and maybe there are variances in the gy6 50cc engines, mine usually takes about 700ml to fill on an oil change, and i leave mine to drain for about 15 minutes while i attend to other servicing. i am certainly not saying anyone elses fill amounts are incorrect, simply that if i put 900ml in mine, it would read way overfull. i think that if the breather line from your valve cover is installed running back from the valve cover to your airbox, or if you use oil on your air filter, that a little bit of oil making its way into the vacuum line on your petcock could be considered normal, as oil will occasionally purge through that valve cover breather line, and make its way back into your airbox, and then up through your carb, and intake... where that other vacuum line hooks up at. those are my thoughts on the oil in the line, and oil level

it is about 3/4 of a quart or a little more. with scooter on center stand put dipstick in but do not screw it down. oil should be around halfway into the cross hatch area. if your engine is over full it can cause damage like blown seals or it can bend the rings if way over full. check your air box for oil and clean it out if needed.
