well I have 2 more small issues popping up on my modded zuma
mods are 19mm carb/70cc bbk / and pipe
first the throttle cable brakes at the twist grip end nubbin?
2nd after the scooter sits over night I have to use my hand to block off the carb to get it to start ?

Have you been pulling on the throttle too hard? That will usually do it and what size main jet do you have along with what needle position do you have for the slide? That sounds alot like not enough fuel or the enricher isn't working. I've had 2 diff Bbk on mine and about to be 3 diff types of exhaust and not had to change a pilot jet so I don't feel like that would be it unless its a tiny pilot jet. And on a larger carb that really shouldn't be an issue. Is there a possibility of low compression? May not be enough to pull fuel into the crankcase without the added vacuum by blocking the air box. What type of exhaust do u have?

If the compression is good maybe the case has a leak because if it doesn't create the proper pressure and vacuum It can't run properly either. Crank seals are notorious for that one but then again so is the reed cage. When I had running issues that was just an exhaust pipe I resealed the reeds just for piece of mind and it helped but didn't do the trick so I must have had a tiny leak. Black or orange rtv should work just fine. Is the gasket at the top of the carb in decent condition? Vacuum doesn't build right if thats leaky too but it will run decent except for idle. If you don't have a compression tester you can use your finger to atleast see if its decent its always treated me well but I've been messing with engines since 10 so I guess I have a feel for it. If it feels like your finger is about to get a hickey or suck the skin off your good to go. Can you see if your head gasket has a slight leak. Just a tiny bit of oil gas mix usually on the cylinder head or cylinder is a dead giveaway but isn't always a huge leak. I'm using a copper gasket that was on a top end that grenaded but still has more than enough compression to run just fine. After 2100 miles its just a little tiny bit of leaking but its still there.

Ok if it doesn't run right with the filter on maybe the jetting is too large? Did you remove the snorkel from the air box? I had to cause mine never runs right with it and I like the extra noise to alert the blind drivers where I'm at. With exhaust it flows more out so it needs more air coming in as well.

I thought I blew my crank seals 2 times now and it was always something stupid instead so hopefully its just nothing though. Soft seize you would deff notice cause your engine would lock up driving down the road. Have you changed anything recently since it stopped running proper?
