Crap. I think I just accidentally bought a 100cc Technigas Next R from Germany! I was on ebay and I wanted to get a shipping quote from a German seller and a split second before I clicked my mouse I realized I was clicking "commit to buy and request invoice" Dangit! Oh well, it looks like it's $149 shipped from Germany. Not a bad price I guess so I'll just buy it instead of trying to explain what I did to somebody through poorly translated English. Doh!

Bummer! 185 sounds high for compression, but I don't know what these 90's should be at. I checked my 99cc for the first time night before last and it was 170. I bet 185 is hell to kick over!

Lol, ive even used JBweld in a pinch to fill a jet! It swells with fuel but after you ream it a couple good times it works great

If its a real 100cc pipe that is not a bad deal at all IMO..

Oh yeah- Think I'm running a bit high on compression and hot?? My temp gauge was nearing 400 when this blew and then it flashed 425 max temp. wow. I wonder if it was a delay in the Trailtech TTO or what, but I know to back off sooner than later now... Hate to say it, but I've went back to my original setup with the modofied 50cc head and two head gaskets. Somehow I got it right way back then and ever since I've been trying different head/gasket combos I just can't seem to get all the planets to align... I'm back at my original setup and my squish is .69

I seemed to have slightly "soft seized" my engine last night... Lol. Do you think that piston is saveable? Doh@! Oh yes, I had a Brent-like adventure last night which ended in me doing this to my engine and pushing my scoot the last half mile to Walmart. I called a taxi and got a ride home and took the van back and loaded up my injured scoot. Surprisingly the cylinder didn't suffer much damage. I actually have an extra 50mm cylinder and piston so I wasn't too worried about trashing that, but here's the real depressing pic: Yep- that's molten aluminum slung all the way into my case! Dang! Well, I've been wanting to split the cases and try my hand at trenching so it looks like I'll be doing that sooner than later... Luckily I have a complete backup engine sitting under my workbench. I'll be slumming it at 49cc for a while haha.

Holy cow. That sucks but I guess at least if you were gonna put a hole in a piston you did not do it half-assed. Were you just riding along WOT on a long stretch and all of the sudden it went or did it give you any sort of advanced warning in hindsight?

Probably should explain how I let this thing grenade itself; I had an epiphany yesterday with my carb as I've been slowly tuning it lately. My idle jet had literally fallen out and my scoot was running like crap- at low throttle. However it was screaming at full throttle and the temps also looked good too. That's when the light bulb went off and I realized I was going the totally wrong way on my jetting. I need more fuel not less- way more. So, I put my largest idle jet in (40) and threw my largest main jet in (150) and lo and behold my scoot was running great! I could currently only go 3/4 throttle and I thought I was getting closer as I slowly lowered and lowered the main jet but I was way off. After putting the 150 jet in in the 7-11 parking lot- this carb is so easy to get to now I take my jets with me and tune anywhere I want- my scoot was running fricking fantastic so I headed to my next stop which was Walmart. I was going so fast and powerful I was excitedly monitoring my RPM gauge and speedo and had my GPS running watching it as I was about to break my 60mph wall! I just hit 59mph and boom! More like a screech really- and the scoot instantly went black and I quietly rolled to a stop on the shoulder of the road. Well, the one gauge I should've been watching I wasn't- my temp gauge lol. My high temp recall; 485! Stupid stupid stupid! After going through the precaution of installing a temp gauge and then installing a light so I could keep an eye on it night time, I did neither! I guess it's kinda like having some condoms ready to go but not using them in the heat of the moment hehehe. Except there's no "morning after" pill for this...

Ouch!!Looks like the headgasket gave up right before the piston collapsed..Another piston to put up on the mantle for future "there I was" stories!

I knew it was really bad when I let the scoot cool down and went to kick it over and it wouldn't budge. Totally seized!

Damn Niz. That's a damn big hole! Does the plug look like it was lean or did it melt when the head gasket went? 485 is damn hot.
