SF50 by theo547, on Flickr I just purchased a Hyosung Prima Rally 50 and it needs a little work. before I get into any of that I have a few things ive seen on this that im just not sure what their function is CARBSCREW by theo547, on Flickr ive never seen a bolt like this. it has a power and ground going through it. best I can tell its like a block heater? This scooter also has a floor board fuel tank and I was hoping to get some advice on how the fuel pump works. this has the square style fuel pump and the one that was on it was not holding pressure so im waiting for the new one to come in. im really just not sure how to prime it or if it will just pump like a normal gravity fed pump. a friend of mine told me they can be a real pain in the butt.

That fitting is a new one to me too. I found a service manual for the Hyosung, but it shows a threaded fitting there, nothing in it. If the passage leads to nowhere, I'd imagine you're correct and it would have to be a heating element.
I've never used a low tank or vacuum pump on my scoots, but some have said they can be hard to prime in the past. I'd figure a little cranking would prime it, others have said it's best to fill the bowl so it'll start or spray carb cleaner in to get it fired up and it'll start working quickly then. Also read that it should be mounted at or below fuel level. Sorry I'm not much help.

Thanks for the input Brent. Ive got the scooter up and running. The fuel pump actually worked pretty easy once I had it all hooked up properly. Did not need priming or anything. I wish I would have spent a little more time taking pictures because this was a lot more of a project then maybe I figured it would be when I purchased it. Piston rings were gone and cylinder wall was scratched. It had be plasty-dipped and looked like shit because of it. floor board was partially melted. Seat cover was ripped. postrepair by theo547, on Flickr I replaced the seat cover and used a bedliner spray on paint for the floor boards. I think they look great personally. seat cover.. eh... not so much but its functional. the bedliner spray is something you need to be careful with. if it goes on heavy it will look like total crap.
