Do you have the Air box disconnected? Or is the Hose off. How many miles, ext.

The previous owner added a free-flow air filter, i dont have the original box. The scoot has 20 000 km on it, but the piston and cylinder are like brand new.
Only thing i did to it was to jet it up to 88 instead of the stock 85 jet.

The stock airbox is the way to go. It sounds like a Carburetor problem. Is it the oem Tekie carburetor?

Yup, carb is stock and the original airbox was not with it when i got it.
So bigger then a 88 jet would be what to look for?

It sounds like it's getting way to much air. From what I've seen with running open filters you need to go up on the main. Do you have a 95 main jet to try?

It maybe a good idea to get a range of jets from 90-100 if you plan on keeping that filter.

The stock air box would be the way to go if he had it or if the guy he's fixing it for wanted to buy one. Open air filters are difficult to tune and there's no real gain with anything under a high performance build where the air box won't fit on large carbs. But if that's all you have a couple bucks for the right jet and it'll run.

A larger main jet will fix WOT, but what about idle up to 3/4 throttle? You will be lean and likely lean enough to damage. Pilot jet needs to be increased too. Not worth the trouble for a stock scooter IMO. Get an original air box from somewhere possibly ebay or cheap cycle parts, or at least a generic stock airbox. I have learned the hard way freeflow air filters are a bear to tune, and cause horrible gas mileage.

Since the scooter is not mine and missing the original airbox, i have to find a way to fix it without having to spend too much on it. The budget for getting this little thing up and running is already busted and im the one spending the missing $$$ to fix it.( fixing it for a friend)
I'll get bigger jets for the moment and try to get a stock airbox for cheap around here. Them little bugs are everywhere around my place anyway.
One thing i did not look at was the reed valves, could they be causing this? Just asking before i take it apart, i'll be working on it tomorrow.

Reed valve would likely cause flooding. You need an airbox.

Thx, you just saved me some major amount of elbow grease.
Edit: The airbox im looking for a cheap one as we speak. We have some 2T gods here, so any advice you give me i follow pretty much blindly. =)
