Found an air box for $10 and going to pick it up tomorrow. I did try some bigger jet (92 and 97), but no luck. This little 2t seems to be hard to get up and running good. I hope the airbox will do magic. Just in case the airbox dont solve the problem, what would be the next thing to look at?

Fiddled a gain with the jets tonite and while doing so the p-flow fell off. Is it normal for the carb to spit out fuel/oïl from the intake? Not a big amount but enough to get my fingers wet when i put them in from of the intake.

I think you may need to do what I just did today(at least the flashlight check for piece of mind). My reeds weren't sealing properly and letting the carb spit like your describing. Enough that I'd have a lil pool of oil in my air box after a long ride. I pulled the reed cage and decked it with a pane of glass and some 2000 git sand paper. Check out the "what did you do to your scooter today" thread in the general scooter chat area...page 33 second post with pics (wont let me link it for some reason)

Its my fisrt time playing monkey wrench on a 2t so i appreciate all the advices i can get. =)

Ok, airbox is in. Stock 85 jet is back on. Reed valve are fine( they seem to be stock (metalic)
Still wont fire up. I checked the compression and its at 90. Low, but it should at least fire up no?

90 is low and borderline. It was running though and you said the piston and cylinder were like new so I'd question the compression test results. Did you hold the throttle wide open? 85 is large for the stock setups I've worked on but I didn't open up the carb on the Zuma I have so maybe it's different.

Forgot about the throttle thing for the compression. I will retest it tomorrow. If its still the same, i suspect a seal in the base.

Base or head if rings and cylinder are good.

I will reopen the motor tomorrow and have a look at that. Thx!

Is it a harbor freight compression tester? I hear, they read 90, no mater what it is.

A few pictures of my digging down inside that litle beast. Reed valves, i think they are stock. It was my first imseing some in flesh, blood and metal. Here is the cylinder. The inside is smooth as a miror, but got a nasty surpise when i sas the base gasket. Im pretty sure i did not rip it when i took off the head, as i was carefull in the way i pulled it off the base. I could clearly see that it was riped before i pulled it off. The teares probably happended when i took it off the first time. (bangs his head with an heavy blunt object). The head will need a oood cleaning before going back on, but i like the color of the plug, same as my coffee. Since its all already opened, it will get some new piston rings too. But i hope my wife wont know about it.

The reeds can be tricky to get sealed up. You can use permatex ultra grey but make sure it's the one that is resistant to fuel. I've seen two types and one says no gas. Three bond 1184 is the best IMO but it's harder to find. I ordered it online. You can use either in the cylinder base gasket. Use new gaskets on both.

Ok, so i need to get some gasket stuff for the reed valves. They were just slapped on the base with nothing to seal them.
