is it lifted? if so then do NOT go by the oil level mark on the dipstick. if you do it will be way overfilled an cause oil blowby. an thats because if it has a lift kit the motor is now tilted an not level like it was when stock. i know a lot about carts since i also rebuild those little moneypits LOL

check those crank seals!!!!!! i just worked on one this morning an it was doing the same as what you are describing. sprayed starter fluid in carb an all it did was pop a few times an that was all. i needed to replace the drive belt so i started working on that an when i got the cover off i noticed a lot of oil residue all over behind the front variator. so i took that off an got a good look at the crank seal an sure enough it was worn out!!!!! i can feel air blowing out of it when cranking over the motor it is leaking that bad LOL.. if your crank seals are not sealing then it will not let the fuel/air mix get into cyl like it is suppose to. i'll bet $ that is whats wrong with yours also.

you said you have spark right? if so then that eliminates any "safety kill switches" otherwise you would not have any spark.

it keeps frying the coil for some reason. he checked an it seems there is constant power going to it when the key is turned on. i'm not sure but isn't there only suppose to be pulses of power to the coil an not constant power? (sorry i'm not very smart when it comes to electrical). or else there is something shorting out making the coil overheat an almost catch on fire.
