Does anyone know if the brembo caliper off the zr jog is more Superior to the normal caliper on the cv50 jog? Was thinking if the engines dead then I'll just take the goodies from this jog and put it into mine

Yeah that could be a possibility , when i let the fuel out of the carb, the fuel was green? Take it must of been really old... Lucky the fuel tank is dry so i didn't have to drain that. Took the carb out (mikuni) and going to take it apart and give it a clean. Yeah it does hurt the state of the panels are pretty bad there's rivets and screws in places it shouldn't be.
I think i found where the battery sits, in the spot under the seat? Having a look at the wiring there's a few looms that haven't been connected and i can't seem to find the other cable for the battery( there's no battery in there btw). I'll take some pics when i get a chancr, I've take most of the panels off.

Update~ So today, I changed the variator back to stock and put lighter rollers(3x3+3x4) in without the washer. Outcome was nice smooth acceleration from 0-55kms( didnt get enough road or time to test full speed). I find the difference between the stock V and the Kitaco power drive V is that the Power drive gives you more top speed( rather than acceleration as advertised). Looking at the Variator can see that the Kitaco one is bigger and from what I read, bigger variator = more top speed. It does feel as though it is making the engine work harder because the sound the engine makes is definitely gruntier probably due to the slope of the variator. Anyway with the stock variator, making good acceleration and I'm happy with the performance. Annoyed though that I wasted about $80 on the kitaco variator. Might sell it off and see how much money I can recoup or just keep it for future in case I might have a need for it. ALso, awhile ago I made a post about a Jog zuper zr, well I won the auction for it and will be picking it up sometime this weekend probably Excited!

So in the last picture, the one on the left is the kitaco powerdrive variator and the one on the right is presumably the stock variator well it was the variator that was in the cvt. You'll notice that the cvt gasket broke when I opened it, any idea where I can get a new one? Had a brief look and can't seem to find it online. The shock I got locally from Scootling, its a bit better than the stock one but I wouldn't say there is a big improvement. So messed around with the rollers yesterday and today. Got a question though, does it make a difference if I do 3x4g +3x5g vs 6x4.5g? Well anyway I put 3x4g+3x5g rollers in with the aftermarket variator and at wot was getting around 7200rpm at full speed wot at around 55kms rpms went to 7600 however the acceleration doesn't feel that much different compared to when I had 3x5g+3x6g rollers in. It was quite an incremental increase. I then tried the same rollers ( 3x4+3x5) with the stock variator and washer. The scooter was accelerating hard but would lose all the power around 40kms I had to go wot for a while to reach 55kms and then I was hitting 8300rpms. Just normal acceleration at about 1/2-3/4 wot was around 7600rpm. I would like the acceleration I get from the stock variator but also want to keep some of the top speed, would like to sit at 55 comfortably. Feel like I have been cheated as the kitaco variator advertised as improvement in acceleration but that's not the case for me, I'm guessing its probably because I have the cvt not set up correctly. I tried 3x5+3x6 rollers with the washer with the kitaco variator and the improvement is miniscule, plus only accelerating at around 6800 rpms. Quite stumped, didn't get time to go a lighter roller will probably do that sometime this week if I get a chance too. Atm the scooter is just sitting in the garage. Been driving to work since its suppose to be bad weather this week and I've got the cvt cover off so can't be bothered taking it on and off while I'm still trying to figure out the rollers. Anyways those are the pics of the Jog. Needs a good clean tbh, think the previous owner spilled 2 stroke oil when he tried to fill up as there is abit of oil on the side where it goes. You can see some has gunked up by the shroud. Quick note- when I start the scoot, it idles really high like 4500rpm from cold, I have to turn it off, adjust the idle screw and then it'll start at a lower idle. I know this probably means I haven't got it set up right, I was messing with the air mixture screw ( the one that goes after the intake?) I think the other day so that maybe why. Reason I was messing with the idle and stuff was because ever since I installed the kitaco variator, when I came to a stop the idle stayed at 4000rpms ( prior to installing it was fine and would idle at 1500-2000 when I stopped). SO yeah I thought it may be the throttle cable is stuck by the carb cause there was a bit of gunk and dirt so I gave that a clean with wd-40 ( I hope it was the right product to use). Anyways long post but I'll keep it updated when I can and I'll post some videos of the scooter running when I get a chance. Cheers

Just the blue one, all I wanted was to derestrict the cdi plus on a budget and wasn't sure which red one fitted but I knew for sure which blue one was the right one. Yep I'll.look into that belt , what's the difference between that and the stock belt? What's the max belt travel suppose to do? What kind of torque spring do I use? Just the same as the factory one? Yep I'll play around with the rollers a bit more once my variator tool arrives. I probably will get a new pipe in the future but atm they're quiet expensive here in NZ :/ even when factoring ordering online and shipping or comes roughly to the same price , next r here is. About 330 from scootling. Bit nervous about getting a new pipe though as quite new to tuning the carb, will probably have to upjet. However I plan on taking the carb apart and giving it a clean sometime just so I can familiarise myself with it and find out the jet sizes Will keep it updated when I do the rollers and I'll get some pics up just haven't had time to take some cool ones

Hey guys thought I'd post about my wee Jog here. I'm fairly new to the scooter scene. Been reading up a lot on the forums and other peoples builds. So I bought this Jog a few months back after I sold my Adly GTA 50. Wasn't a bad scoot. Had tecnigas next r exhaust and racing cdi, Could get over 60kms quite easily. But I sold that as the seat height was a bit high for me. Its a cv50 jog with the 5su engine I think. Has the emissions controls which I might remove later on. It has done 36000kms, Unsure if it has had a rebuild or anything done too it. When I got it everything was stock. Stock I was getting 52kms on gps and that was with all the restrictions. Acceleration was good, could move off fairly quick at the lights however would slow down after 35kms. First thing I did was change the stock cdi out for a Daytona racing cdi and removed the washer in the stock variator. This gave me a top speed of over 60kms but that was off the speedo, The speedo is about 5kms off so I'm guessing around 55-60kms most likely. However because I removed the washer, bottom end speed was reduced but the scoot accelerated steadily rather than rapidly until 35kms. Today I put in a new variator (kitaco power drive kit- japan.webike.net/products/20523809.html) and lighter rollers. I haven't weighed the stock rollers but I think they are 6.5g. For the new variator I put 3x6g and 3x5g spaced evenly so 33g compared to 39g. Took it for a ride just before and boy was there a difference. The engine sounded a lot gruntier like it sounded like it was revving more but it wasn't. Looking at my speedo, the revs topped out at around 7200rpms. Its a bit strange though because I can feel the bike is very torquey but the revs won't go over 7200. I had the bike max speed 61kms gps. I ran out of road though so I probably could of gotten a bit higher. Its strange though because before I put the new variator in, stock I was consistently hitting the rev limiter (stock cdi) and when I changed the cdi it would rev to over 8000 if I wot. When I removed the washer wot was still 7600~ now with the new variator wot is only 7200~ but Im reaching higher top speeds at a faster rate. The power drive variator is supposedly designed for acceleration and hill climbing so that may be the reason. I'm quite new to cvt tuning so anyone who's had more experience with this can maybe tell me if I'm going in the right direction? or do I need to do something with the clutch? I am going to try lighter rollers in it soon but just waiting for my variator holder tool to arrrive. I've been jamming the variator up with a socket which I think isn't the greatest idea don't want to damage it. So once the tool arrives I'll put lighter rollers in and see if the revs go up. Will put more photos of the jog up soon. Cheers

Yeah, I know 96 pages is a lot. Most of it is off topic talk though. You can just skip those pages. Here another thread. 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/10805/preparation-painting-scooterWhat does the frame number on the Super Jog ZR say? If you ask me 7 or 7.2 ain't much difference. If you consider the 4 poke guys drive with 2.5 hp around, lol. I haven't been able to view the scoot yet, so not sure about the frame. Yeah you're right .2hp is not going to make much of a difference. The auction ends in a couple of days so I'll keep my eye on it and see if it goes for cheap.

What additional information do you want to know regarding that Super Jog ZR? As you already mentioned it could be the one with 7.2 hp unless it is a SA13J model which has "only" 6.8 hp Here a short overview: 3YK engine, type 1 - 6 (JOG Z, JOG EX, Super JOG Z) has 7 hp. 3YK engine type 7 (Super JOG ZR) has 7.2 hp (unless it is the SA13J (3YKB) which has 6.8 hp). The CV50 comes with 2 types of engines. The 5BM and the 5SU, both putting out around 6.5-6.8 hp. You say yours has the emission stuff installed which is most likely a 5SU engine. The CV50 engines have the angled reed block which you should keep in mind when purchasing an after market reed block or intake for the carburetor. The Super Jog ZR engine on the other hand has a "normal" reed block and a regular type intake which widens your choice of after market reed blocks and intakes since those are the same as used in a Yamaha Zuma or Yamaha Aerox engine. I personally would try to get the Super Jog ZR and keep the CV50. If that is no option then go for the Super Jog ZR. Here a couple links to some threads that might interest you. Jog-Mania5BM engineReed block comparison70cc Polini Sport installAcceleration Problem [solved at the end] Thanks for the reply how can you tell the difference between the 7.2hp one and 7hp? Are there obvious clues on the scooter to check? Done Google search online and there isn't much information regarding the super zr, looks cool though with the brembo brakes. I've spent the last week going through the jog mania thread, very interesting read and you're scooters look very cool. 96 pages is a lot though haha I have messaged the seller about the job super zr just waiting for a reply, it's on for auction for 150 atm complete bike with key however deregistered, it doesn't run atm but the seller has said why will see how it goes. Regarding the jog cv50, that's my current ride, just used as a daily, however bought some parts for it other day (daytona cdi, kitaco power drive variator )so will see how it goes once those parts arrive.

Hi all, I've just started getting into scooters lately and have read up the threads in the form. Got to say some very nice information available and very cool seeing everyone's builds. Just reading about everyone's builds gives me inspiration for my own. I currently have a 2007 Yamaha jog cv50, it's the one with the emissions control . Oh btw I'm from New Zealand. From what I've read only Australia and New Zealand and japanese got these jogs. Anyway to my point ive been browsing trademe ( pretty much new Zealand's eBay) for jog parts and seeing what I can find, came across a 1996 YAMAHA jog super zr. From what I've read these scooters come with factory 7.2hp engine? I'm wondering if anyone has any information about these? As I'm probably wanting to ditch my current jog and buy that one instead.
