When i bought my 50cc 4t chinese scooter, first thing i noticed was the lack of power. So i ordered a nice 100cc (80cc in real life) BBK that came with a pipe and a CDI. That lasted about 1000km until the bearing of the crank went from stock to dead. Instead of spending more money in fixing something that was gonna break again in 1000km, i decided to go for an all stock 125cc brand new engine.
My bike now runs great, got power to spare in the city and i got reliability to make long trips. I even made 2 this summer, first one was a 1000 km 3 day ride (small tent, sleeping bag, tools and a few pairs of clean undies). But while shopping for some parts for a zuma i was putting back together for the son of a friend, i came across this:
It was for sale at $200 and got it for $175. Front fork are a bit off because it was in an accident, but otherwise its all good and runs great. It has 12 inches tires, a longcase engine and a good looking pipe that sounds awfull (but music can be fixed )
While helping some kid installing a Technigas Zuma exhaust on his CPI GTR I inherited his old stock pipe as payment. This freaking thing is heavy as hell (about 20 pound) and is made of solid polished stainless. At the moment, it sounds more like a rattler but im gonna open it up, remove the 2t stuff from it , repack it and fit it to my bike.
So here i am, on a Sunday morning, with a week off from work and nothing better to do then get dirty and swap the engines just for the fun of it.
Pictures will follow with comments.

Took out the old engine and got the new one in place for a mock up.
Old engine:
New engine:
Here is the engine mount i made last year all with a little portable mig welding machine.
The engine mount need some work to make it cleaner but mostly to send the rear Wheel to the center of the bike. As it is now its about 1 inch off to the right maybe a bit more. That will be the first order of the day tomorrow.
I also noticed that i got more wires coming out of the magneto then i had on the old engine, i know there is a way around this, and i'll be bugging you guys about it when i get to that part.
Just because i could:
Its makes this fugly sound. I'll be reverting to the solo version tomorrow.

If you've got more yellow wires from the stator, maybe you've got the larger 11 pole that puts out more juice. Bad thing would be you'd have to get a new rectifier regulator I believe and do a little wiring. If you didn't want to bother, the stator and flywheel from the old engine should fit this one so it would hook up just like before.

The old engine is already gone, but i got all the gizmos from the donor bike, so getting the regulator is not a problem. Hooking it up will be a different story.
This morning i stumble on this tread: 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/372# and since i got the exact same muffler, i decided to change the horrible sound its making. There was also some dents in it that needs fixing.
The tutorial was very helpfull, but since i tend to over do stuff sometime (very often LOL) i ended up doing this:
Pictures of the dent:
I had to cut the aluminum sleeve in order to get the pipe out.
Having fun with the portable bandsaw:
Told you i over do stuff sometimes. I just wanted a REAL free flow pipe
Here is a mock up of the final result:
Holes will be made in the aliminum sleeve and bolts will be welded to the steel insert to hold the chrome decorative plate.
Pictures of my welding talents were ommited on purpose.

Would it be a possibility to only hook up the 2 wires that comes from the bike to some of the 4 wires that comes from the magneto?

Probably, as long as they aren't just left hanging. If you get the right rectifier/regulator though, I think all you'd have to do is run the extra yellow wires to it and maybe change around connectors so everything hooked up as it should. You'd have a lot more charging power with it working. www.google.com/images?q=gy6+11+pole+stator+wiring

So next step is to get these yellows:
To connect to these yellows:
The rest of them go to where they originally went.
This just shifted in 2nd gear i guess:

Great links
I also got these around with some shrinking insulators:
Edit:
First site i can get a set of male female delivered for: about $25
Second site, same set: $4.49 for the items and $228.99 for the shipping.

You've giving me a brilliant idea. Sell crap dirt cheap, like say a 1P39QMB motor for $10 and then charge $350 for S&H! You'll have millions just hooked on the dirt cheap prices. I know it wouldn't last long but might roll in a few G's before too many catch on.

This morning i remembered about a store we have up here. Its called Madisson and they got all sort of electronic junk from car radio to tv remote. They also sell electronic components so i went to take a look for those connectors. Here i what i got for $22.94. Not bad at all, for the price of 2 connectors online, i got 4 and enough wire to knit me a pair of electric slippers.

Very nice. Using those vs a bunch of single quick connects makes life easier anytime you have to swap something out or remove it for any reason. Sorry the sites I linked were from the US so that probably didn't help with the shipping. When I bought connectors I was making a whole harness from scratch so I bought a bunch and it was fairly reasonable, but I didn't have to pay international shipping either.
