I have a question what pipes I can make fit Horizontal Minarelli style engines with a least amount of modifications. I found a deal on these models. Thanks for any info. Aprillia Sr50 Di-tech 01-06 and04-07 ==Kymco People 50 03-04 and 03-09 ==Malaguti F12 Phantom air cooled thur 99 and Formula 50 thur 97

I think the :
Aprilia = Morini Kymco = Morini Malaguti = Horizontal AC Minarelli
So the Malaguti pipe should be the easiest to fit.

to my knowledge the kymco is NOT a minerelli style engine....it is the honda dio clone..

If anyone knows those for sure, please chime in. I just did a quick search to see what was in the aprilia and kymco that he listed, so they could be wrong.

Kymco is not Morini. They use a 2T of there own (i believe) and the ZX motor that is a copy of the Dio, Elite motor... The other motor, like in my Cobra is a breed of its own...Parts are out there tho! The Super9 and Cobra, as well as the People use this engine. Im not aware of anyone else using it. The cvt parts are cheap, they use GY6 stuff!!!

dude, I don't know if you bought a pipe yet or not. I sent you a PM on where I got mine. There may be another deal where mine came from.

what up fellas? plz excuse the highjacking on this thread but i figured this is a good place...........has ANYONE ever tried the trick of CUTTING 20mm out of the pipe? .. i think i seen this in the 2t tuner handbook... talked about cutting 20mm out of the straight part of the pipe then rewelding together.. supposedly helps alot in performance...my next r pipe has a crack in it so if this works, i can just cut that part out...lmao...

I read something like that somewhere. I also seen HPD pipe sold for a Quad that was ajustable.

That depends on what you want. Doing that would shift the powerband up somewhat, not sure how much.

I removed 1" (25mm) from the belly (straight part in middle) of a Technigas NextR. I also remedied an overlap of the headpipe into the diffuser to make the wave action more free. It shifted the baffle hit point about 1000 rpm to the high side. You can also accomplish the same thing (while maintaining the volume of the pipe and therefore better low rpm performance) by shortening the headpipe but this necessitates moving the mounting tab (usually found on the diffuser section) on the pipe so it will still fit it's mount on the scooter. Alternately, I suppose you could modify the mounting bracket to accomidate the shorter length.

well i have a technigas next pipe, which has a crack in it... i want any/all gains i can get....nobody i have really talked to has tried this at all..cutting the some out seems easier than trying to mod the headpipe...lmao.. i dont think i have the power (w/my modded stocker)to be shifting my point higher..thats why i didnt think i could ever put any gears in.. which idk if i can or not tho...

i got a ? for you about a pipe.....can i take a older technigas RS2 pipe.(70cc pipe) and modify the pipe to fit my scoot(have to have a bit longer tube to the header joint) WITHOUT sacrificing the performance of the pipe, or will it completely kill the pipe out.... i found me a GREAT deal on a rs2 pipe(of course not for a kymco, i am thinking a piaggio, cpi?? idk tho for sure)......

If your pipe mods kill some of your bottom end then reduce your roller mass to compensate. Hardly any stock displacement scooters will pull taller gears to any benefit of top speed.

thanks for the reply stepthrutuner.. yeah, im not wanting to cut up the pipe unless i know that mod works...yeah, it seems i am constantly changing my roller mass...lmao..have 5s ready to go in now........ i was just wondering if its worth cutting the pipe up or not. i realize the cvt will change, it ALWAYS does..lmao, but the pipe mod? ..........oh, any input on my newest post here? ?
