Tomorrow should work. OG I think when I get to tuning the cvt you'll be right. The torque is crazy. It's not going to be a 75 mph bike but it's going to be a fun alternative to the RX8. Just let me know when you'll be huffing 2t fumes and I'll come join ya. And yeah you lucked out, that's a great fit! Good job!

Crapy day for tuning so I decided to take a look at the front end swap. I got a front end from Niz from an Adly. Everything slides together and will work with a combination of the two's bearings. What I will have to do is get the threads on the top turned down farther so I can run the nuts down and tighten it up. This has a 12" wheel on it and raises the bars so I'll get another shorty stem and if need be shorten the steering shaft or put drop bars on.

Dave, I was looking at your pics closely and I realized that your frame is identical to the two Adly's I've had (the fugly duckling and the Noble that this front end came off of). A few different body brackets, but other then that the frame is identical...

Those Chinese are smart. Lol. I can see the front tube/necks are different a little comparing them side by side.

Brent, Do you have a link to where you got your spoked wheel?

For a minute, I thought I was looking at a post that 2TDave did and was like "Wow, your garage changed since I left this afternoon! BTW. That thing sounds sick man. You might want to let me bring my real camera over and take some video of that thing when it's up and running.

Dave,Why not fab up a spacer for the front end ,,It'll do the same thing as getting a machine shop to cut a metric fine thread on a butter soft China steel and charge $125..Maybe something like a 3/4" steel pipe nipple would be a start...

Yeah I was looking around the garage for something and didn't find anything but your right. I'll look and see if I can get the lower race off and put it on top of a spacer or I thought of removing the threads from the upper race so it could slide down then a spacer and jam nuts.

Cutting the threads off the top race for a snug fit should work,we all went to the "threadless stem" set up when I was into bicycling a few years back and never had them loosen.. Also the stem could be cut/shortened/and rewelded with an inner sleeve doubler to make a strong custom fit steering stem..

Yep I spent sometime working at a bike shop and doing a fair amount of riding. That training is why I still have all the bearings. I think I'll leave the races where they are removing the threads and build up from there. Thanks, I discounted the idea thinking it wasn't a good one but now I feel better about it.

I got the top race opened up and down on the shaft. I also swapped the bottom shaft race from the drum front end to the disc. I'll stop at the hardware store tomorrow for some spacer material and should be able to call this mod mock up complete.

I made a spacer out of a 1" pipe nipple. Thanks John! Tomorrow I'll put some brakes on it so I can rock it and adjust the tightness. It's sitting up pretty high now. I can get the bars down by cutting and notching the shaft or a shorty stem but I think dropping the forks an inch may help also. If I raise them in the lower clamps they will hit the plastics. I'll be ordering forks like the RX8 in time but I'm not thinking about cutting the springs in them. So more staring and brainstorming.

I haven't been doing as much as I'd like. Looking like I'll be single soon so my motivation has been low. Sounds familiar right. Anyway I got the front end on and tightened up and the disc brakes on and working. Cut the brake lever of the right switch assembly to make room for the master cylinder and lever. I'm going to put a STR8 stem I have on because this steering shaft has the notch for the bolt in a different location then the drum shaft. It's pretty much mocked up and ready for me to order the brake and suspension upgrade but I'm going to have to wait until I figure out where I'm moving. I wish she would of decided she didn't want to be married when I wasn't in the middle of a build I've been wanting to do forever! The show will go on though just a little slower.

Damn brother hope all goes well at home. Always excited to see an update on your build threads- I'll just have to be more patient haha. Maybe we'll see your scoots in the living room now? haha. All kidding aside- best wishes.

Thanks Niz. You may see a couple scoot easy chairs. No money to furnish a house. Lol. I'd really love to find a shop I could build a loft in to live.
