I agree that you'd be better off saving up and getting what you want. The TaoTao you picked looks nice, but you said speed limits up to 55MPH on your commute. Usually that means people drive 60-70MPH regularly so I'd feel a lot safer with something larger. Even the 150 will be maxed out trying to keep up with traffic. You can kinda draft cars to keep speed up easier, but a 250+ should let you ride however you need. I think it would be worth the wait to get something you'd be totally satisfied with.

You guys are totally right! I applied for a loan last night hopefully I will get approved. Birdman I been toughing it out on the 50 for a year and I get run off the road every day, Ive been thinking about a big bore kit just I don't know a whole lot about engines YouTube and this sites got me through most of it. I'm afraid if I get all the big upgrades then it will break down then I'm stuck with no vehicle until I can fix it.

Since you've been doing the commute a year this way, it may be in your best interest to save the BBK money. I'm sure it sucks, but even if you get a cheap big bore for say $40, by the time you get it tuned with jets and rollers you'll creep closer to $100 with supplies. That's 10% of the cost of the 150 and a few percent of the cost of the 400 you looked at. Plus I think they're always a bit more reliable with a stock bore than a big bore on an otherwise stock engine and easier on CVT parts with less power/speed. You need the scoot to get around and any repairs that come up or arranging for a different ride can cut into cash you would have had for the new scoot.

So I ordered my 150cc today!! I got the TaoTao cy150-2b, I talked to the lady from Family Go-Karts and she said there pretty slow so there's a 75% chance it will ship Monday!! So by Friday I should get it and can start putting it together! There's a guy in my town who has the same one, his top speed is 65mph! performance exhaust, racing cdi and red hot coil. So I'm going to do the same! When i was talking to the lady on the phone I was so happy I barley paid attention to what she was saying but she told me the best oil for the scooter is 7-Eleven car oil!! I told her she should fire her mechanic because he does not know shit! Anyways I'm rambling again but what is the deal with the paper work? Can I register it as soon as i get the scoot? or do I have to do something before hand? 90GTVert I know you ordered your TaoTao from family go-karts, What should I know before hand?

Cool Beans mate. Congrates on the new scooter looks nice. My current 150(Kymco Movie 12" wheels) does 105KPH/65MPH on level ground no mods. My old CFMoto 150 with 16" wheels was faster at 120KPH/75MPH(I think Speedo was a little optimistic more like 110-115KPH/70MPH) same no mods.

You can't register the scoot as soon as you get it. There should be some stuff to fill out and you'll have to talk to FamilyGoKarts again to get paperwork sent. It took me roughly a week after contacting them to get the certificate of origin and signed bill of sale.
