When I installed a 50mm kit I took 90GTVert suggestion and "detuned" the engine by installing heavy roller weights that limit RPM... I did the same exact thing. I've got 8 gram rollers. Based on my weight at around 195lbs, that puts the max RPM at most 8k. When I added the BBK, I originally had 5 gram sliders in, but was revving WOT at 11k rpms. I changed that out in a heartbeat! 02starrider's 100cc kit pretty much has everything including 8 gram roller weights, and even a #90 main jet ( at least mine came with the #90 main jet), which according to most, as long as you keep the stock airbox, is just about perfect with a 18mm or 19mm carb.

I did exactly the same thing Silar- those 8g that came with it worked just right and the 90 mj too... Top speed didn't change much but that scoot pulled like a freight train up hills!

I had read some posts here that some guys that bought the kit got a #85 jet, so I was figuring I did too, but mine was a #95. I'm using the rollers he provided also and it just works great, of course other than my lack of judgement on carb tuning and wanting to do 50,000 things at the same time! My wife thinks I've got attention deficit disorder.. lol!

When you get it all installed, remember.. Just ride it like you DIDN'T steal it! WOT all the time can cause premature crank bearing failure..

I got my kit finally installed today....when I started it up the engine started smoking and then died. It looked like smoke from something burning. My guess it's the piston rings. I thought I clocked them correctly and used engine assembly oil when putting them on. Put the lettering facing up.....and the lighter ring on top. Checked the gaps before putting them on....I'll have to take it apart again or take it to a mechanic....

If you used a lot of oil on assembly that may be what was smoking at first.

Like Brent said, it could just be the oil burning off. It's pretty much common for a new top end build to have some smoke at first startup. Oil usually ends up in the cylinder and on the piston which burn off after a few seconds/minutes..
I'm assuming the smoke is coming from the exhaust.. right? How long did it run before it died? How much smoke? What color? What's it smell like?
Make sure you triple checked that TDC is set correctly.
If using an aftermarket CDI, you may need to up your idle a bit to keep it running.
I would think as long as it's not making any horrible sounds, you may just need to adjust your carb to keep it running.

Bike is running!!! The exhaust valve was slightly off, I had checked this before but the gap was too large. It's running well, the only problem I had was the steering was too tight. Pulled off the cover and adjusted the nuts so the steering wasn't so tight. That was kind of a pain had to put all my weight into it to loosen it up. The only thing I haven't done is put on the roller weights...the motor sounds good at WOT. Will the roller weights increase my top end speed or slow it down? Thanks for everyone's help I appreciate the input.

The roller/slider weights really depend on your body weight and what contra and clutch springs you have, etc.
I'm right around 190 - 195 lbs and I am currently using the 8 gram rollers that came with my BBK. They work pretty good, but based on my weight, they limit the RPM's around 8k or so. I could definitely go down to around 7 grams or maybe even 6.5 grams to get my RPM's up to around 9k or a little more. I'm trying to stay a bit conservative to keep from over-revving and prevent premature crank bearing failure since that is a thing that could happen with a 50mm or larger BBK and constant WOT..
