Why not lane split and be the first at every light. Thats one of the reasons I ride my scooters because of the small size, and ability to maneuver through even the tightest of spots.

Lane splitting is not legal in all areas. It's not legal here and from what I've seen where people aren't used to lane splitting some will get quite upset about it, sometimes to the point of swerving at you or opening doors. I'm supposed to ride the shoulder and I've had people get angry if I went around them on the shoulder before if they were stuck for some reason. Prob works fine in some locations where drivers are used to it, but I think it's more trouble than it's worth if you're going to piss off groups of 2,000+ lb weapon wielding idiots.

I also have a CHT and like Brent mentioned, the scoot immediately cools down while at idle. Since I've owned the CHT I see how the scoot reacts to driving conditions and it's at it's coolest while idling.

With how cheap it is to rebuild these motors from the ground up it doesn't bother me one bit idling. As many have said it's at it's coolest while idling. Granted that those running oil pumps do have accelerated wear compared to premix at idle.
