Hi fellas! Got a pretty crazy experience to share with you!
First of all, I had this all typed out real long and proper with all the juicy details but somehow a couple stray finger strokes closed that whole damn window. Grrrr!
So, I'll give u the short version haha.
I was in my garage last week as usual puttering around on scoot stuff and a guy walked into my garage. He introduced himself (in a thick Greek accent) as Bill, my neighbors brother. He asked if I had a motorcycle ramp he could borrow to load a motorcycle he was gonna buy and I said I don't sorry. I'm assuming his sister must have told him I was a crazy scooter guy and I might have one haha. Well, after a bit of talking he told me that he owns a scooter rental place in Ft. Lauderdale. I told I always wanted to talk to a scoot rental place owner and ask what you do with the scoots after you're done renting them- the retired ones. He said he just junks them! He told how just last week someone got in an accident with one of the scoots and he just told the tow truck driver to keep it! We talked a little more and his last comments were "There is no money in scooters." I told him I agreed.
Well, the next day rolls around and he stops by again- with said motorcycle in the back of his truck. I guess he just wanted to show it to me?? It was a sweet mint silver Yamaha YZF? 600! I assumed he bought it for himself- no it's a rental! Turns out his place rents just about everything! From bicycles to scooters to crotch rockets to dune buggys to golf carts to Harleys! Amazing! Well, he said he wanted to give me two scooters- just give them to me- free! He said they don't have titles as the owners just abandoned them at the repair shop... ok cool. I'll take 'em!
Well, that was like a week ago and I didn't think about it much since then. I mean you know how people are- usually a lotta talk not much action right? Well.... here's what pulled into my driveway tonight!
LMAO! Not two, but three scooters! A man of his word! I was totally floored. I mean, I didn't even know this guy and after maybe 45 minutes of talking with him he just gives me three scooters for free! Crazy! He did ask one favor- he has a friend who is on social security with not nuch money and would I take a look at his scooter if he ever runs into issues. I said "It's a deal." and shook his hand.
So yeah, a guy walks into my garage...
I haven't really taken a real good look at any of these yet, but they're all in kinda rough shape. Looks like two ATM50's and a Znen 150. Here's my garage now lol:
So hey fellas if you're ever in Ft. Lauderdale and want to rent something cool, go visit 'Hot Scooter Rentals' and tell 'em Jeramy sent ya!
