Yeah i need a good set of final drive gears. ones that wont sacrifice takeoff too bad. The clutch feels really shoddy. I decompressed it and it jiggles back and forth. shouldn't it just slide straight out? That's just what I know familiar to me from past owned scoots. (?)

I think that you're talking about your torque driver and if so, then no they shouldn't wiggle at all. It should be nice and smooth.
Looks much better without the tail piece and it's interesting to see that yours comes with an inner fender. Not much of one but at least you have one.

So the torque driver is the little plate behind the clutch right? The disk that expands when the scooter rpms increase. That thing is jiggly. I've never felt one like that before. I think maybe that's what all that noise is coming from. Thanks for telling me the name of that part man.
Tiny little inner fender.... lol. Still gotta clean it up some.

I need a good torque driver suggestion. I don't mind paying for it if its nice and dependable. Got any links? eBay preferably.

Thanks Brent. Yes, it's the torque driver. When I decompress it, it wobbles from side to side instead of just straight out. Pretty sure this is what's causing all the vibration I'm experiencing at higher speeds.

Got my variator today. Several different roller and slider weights to mess around with. Need to order a new clutch assembly probably. The stock clutch on this bike is garbage.

Belt broke and I think I found out where the harmonic imbalance is coming from. My guess is its coming from the extremely crappy clutch assembly and the fact that a few blades are missing from my variator fan. It may not have anything to do with the missing blades, but I' assuming at 8k or so RPM, it may just be enough to make some undesirable vibrations. I tried to decompress the torque driver (just wanted to get a closer look at it) again being that I had it apart and it's quite difficult to do. Also, the pulley is not spinning like it should (doesn't spin freely). I think I may have some bad bearings in there and need to just replace the entire assembly.

The broken fan blades will most certainly cause the imbalance. Get a new one before it ruins your main bearings.
The scoot is looking pretty good as well!

I was fairly certain those missing blades would cause some vibration. It's like a poorly balanced washing machine. One sock can throw it off. I ordered a new variator fan and clutch assembly today. Pretty wild that belt broke tonight. I ordered a kevlar belt a few days ago. Glad I was only about a mile away from the house. I was geared up to ride about 40 miles with the night off and all...

The damn tings never break when it's convenient! It's too bad that you can't use an oem Yamaha belt (at least I don't think they're the same size?) Because they are the absolute best when it comes to the Zuma.
