Btw, I finally got around to changing the packing on the silencer with the fmf sheet, so easy to put on tough to take the original apart. This is how it looks like

Ok, this is ridiculous... I just replaced the Piston Rings and it was running with good compression the past week and now compression is at 90 and I'm losing power from 20-30 and tops out at 35mph on flat.
I was told that it could be because my main is too lean and my pilot is too rich causing an overheating of the cylinder and warping it ever so slightly.
Suggestions?

90 is low..Did you check the ring end gaps?Perhaps the rings are an incorrect size...Did ya 'hand hone' it??

if your main is lean and it is overheating you will most certainly see it seize.
Before my engine seized from a lack of cooling it ran 100% fine all the way up to the point it seized. I was going about 50mph when it seized too. Then again it was an alum cyl so maybe cast iron cyl is a bit different?

Some rings have a top and bottom that are ever so slightly different and can create blow by if backwards or upside down. My mallossi kit didn't have markings on the rings though and I still haven't had an issue.

I finally did the X-hatch sandpaper just now though. I have seized 2 BBKs before and just like you, it seized going WOT or close to it. Engine just died and I see a 4 corner scoring on the piston and cylinder. So I don't know what the heck happened now...

Let's stick to this thread about this subject and use my newest thread mainly for the CVT and Carb tuning. (thank you for responding to both btw.)
Hmmm... how do I check for leaks?

put the bike on the stand, idling, and spray around areas like intake, exhaust, etc. anywhere a leak could be with WD40 or starter fluid or something flammable.
if you see any change in the RPM when you spray somewhere, you have a leak there.

Is carb cleaner ok? I am out of everything else. RPM as in Bike revs and feels like it goes higher on its own? Also, I was told to inspect the crank seal... I don't even know how to do this. (I have a friend who races scooters in CA who is helping me also)

yeah carb cleaner will work
it should run pretty smooth at idle, just look for any change in it's running like RPMs rising or running worse or anything like that.
Which crank seal were you told to inspect? both?
I don't know how you can check it other than just visually checking for reside outside of the seals, indicating a leak of some sort

OH, we did some carb tuning check over the phone, it appears that my pilot is too rich which leans out the main he said. My A/F screw is only 1/2 out and it made no difference with 2 full turns out on idle and I'm spitting white smoke on start up. Anyhow... when I lost this much power is when I was using the old piston rings and compression went to hell. Again, these malossi rings are only 1 week old!! Sigh... $30 down the drain. The whole kit has seen close to 10.000 miles btw

"my pilot is too rich which leans out the main he said."
I don't really understand how that makes any sense sorry lol
10,000 miles is really good for a 70cc kit.
I'd just replace the whole thing
