There are always those questions....
New Helmet or a BBK?
Riding jacket or a new engine?

ive had my scooter since Monday , and yesterday I hit a very small curb across the street from my house and the scooter slide, it didn't hurt the bike at all, except it woundnt start after words, I think it became flooded and I drain the battery. so I charged it for an hour and it starts right up again. the kick start didn't work either. the only scratches was my knee and pride. Today I went for a 7 mile ride and everything seemed fine. so my little green machine is running.

I find that the soot is hard to wash off. On the other hand 'learn by doing' is not a healthy way to learn about a riding jacket. They say gloves are good also because it is natural for people to put their hands out to protect themselves. I still have scars on my hand from a simple face plant on a concrete drive. I still don't wear proper riding gloves. I use those mechanix gloves from HF. I do have a decent jacket though. It is a Pilot from STG and cost me 10% of the price for my scoot. I wear boots made of leather and 'ballistic' nylon but no riding pants. That will bite me someday. I always wear gloves, for one the grips just feel better that way, as well as for safety. I was definitely a bit "gun shy" jumping back on the scoot, but I just jumped back on the very next day to get rid of that. I've also got a 3/4 helmet that came with the bike, so I want to get a full faced pretty soon. I'd love to get some of those kevlar lined jeans. $$$, though.Busted my chin up pretty bad on my first spill. 12 stitches. Nothing but full helmets for me now. I should probably wear some gear but I don't. Jeans and a T most of the time. Sometimes shorts and flip-flops. lol... The only gear I own is rain gear. I ride in the rain a lot. I love it. I learned how to handle my bike better thanks to it. I've crashed quite a few times on previous scoots. You kinda learn how to do it after the third or fourth time. Never crashed on my current scoot. I would be heart-broken. Probably coming sooner or later but whatever. I'll never stop riding on 2 wheels until I die or get too old to hold myself up at stops.

The Wife is a bit apprehensive going out in the rain now, after coming off. Hopefully she will get her confidence back soon.

About a month ago my brothers steering column broke right at the triple tree. He was doing about 30mph and took a pretty nasty spill. So, just a reminder, inspect your steering column from time to time!

Only riding for 8 months, but I always wear at least leather gloves, textile jacket with armor and at least jeans and long socks. When it gets cooler or I am going for longer across city drives, I put on my armor pants. I might look silly on a scooter with a full suit, but at least I am that much more safe when riding.
Sucks that you fell and at least you are alright.
