Thinking about it the high speed unstableness could be resulting from my rather odd and asymmetrical arm position at large throttle openings.

Gotta be symmetrical. It's best if you get a "cruise control" device so you can hold both arms straight out at speed, as if walking a tight rope or pretending to fly.

Yeah, If I don't find anything when fitting the quick action throttle I'll blame it on the wrist breaking stroke of the 28mm carb.

Managed to find a QA throttle for £16 I've also found a set of engine cases on eBay for £30, no stripped threads or snapped bolts apparently. The reason I'm looking for them is that there is a chunk of the flywheel cover missing on my cases. I think it would be good to start with some fresh sandblasted cases and take my time flowing and port matching them.

Bugger, the ebay cases have turned out to be drum Still having cylinder problems. The heat seized one is giving me low end grief because of the compression loss and Andy has got back to me to say that the cylinder I reckoned had dodgy porting is in fact fine It's a bit of a mystery as to why it worked when the only change was the cylinder and 0.25gr in roller weight :stumped: Anyways, the cylinder's going to be checked and tuned by Bram, and hopefully it will magically work again, after all, there's no reason why it won't

I got the cylinder back from Andy today, he's right, it is identical to the others. I was been thrown off by the port chamfers being different. Bram found me some engine cases for £40 and I've sent my cylinder off to be ported The quick action throttle proved a little difficult to fit, I had to modify the plastics: Got a little tidying up to do, but I don't think it looks that bad.

That's a wide fairing up there. Most of the scoots I'm used to have just enough of a panel there to accommodate gauges. Once you get the cut smoothed out, it should look good.

Smoothed out and back together However, I took the flywheel off to investigate some odd rattling, found that the flywheel bolts had worked them self loose, rattled out into the path of the flywheel and promptly been ripped out, damaging the engine casing in the process. Good job that I'm getting new cases soon I managed to recover two of the threads and have done those bolts back up with loctite, there's normally 3 bolts. Oh, and I discovered some seriously deep grooves had been worn into the alu S6 drive face, so it's back to stock for now. I thought my run of bad luck was over :help:

Maybe you're just getting all of this bad luck out of the way and at some point life with be trouble free. That's what I keep trying to tell myself at least. lol

I swear these scooters are a neverending project, though. You could spend 10 years and 20 grand on them, and still want more

Thought my thread might be getting lonely after a week on it's own, so here goes ;D Bram sent me these pics last night of the work he started on my cases (he couldn't do it without the cylinder, which arrived yesterday). The stator bolts backed out again, despite being stuck in with an impact wrench and epoxy resin Today I'm going to drop the engine and strip it down in preparation for the new cases.
