Peak with a locked vari and S6 Pro is 12500rpm give or take. You're right with the R1200, it likes to peak 13.5-14k, too high for the stock Stage6 racing. Would be a killer setup with the right cylinder though.
What did surprise me was that a supposedly low Mid-Race/High Sport exhaust will rev away like that, even with the C16 it didn't peak above 12k.

This is kind of a dumb questions, I'm sure - but what happens when you get a pipe that is designed for aggressively port long durations in the cylinder, but the cylinder isn't ported for the pipe? Make it perform worse or just doesn't give it full potential?

This is what can happen - in extreme cases it just flat out won't work - i.e, if you combine a R1400 and a stock cylinder. Most times it'll work, but be down on power throughout. Red line shows a matched cylinder and exhaust, black a low revving cylinder combined with a high revving exhaust. Note the two peaks on the back line, one from the cylinder and the other from the exhaust.

The Red curve represents a pipe and cylinder that match, so there is one peak, which would be at the second black peak if it were the cylinder matched to the pipe, however I was basing it on a change of pipe, not cylinder.

I know you've had some bigger numbers in mind, but 13.5 is still a lot. I hope you can get a longer riding period in before you have to diagnose anymore issues. Seems like it's been a while since you've just rode and left it be with the crash and engine issues.
I think the scooter ate something and blood is leaking from your intake. :devil: Or it could just be high tack?

I thought that about the blood too Brent ;D Yeah, I was hoping for higher numbers, but, rideability and reliability are far more important than outright power - I'm saving the R1200 and ported cylinder for my other scooter that won't be a daily rider. Andy has told me to run it for a month to get it all loosened up and running as it should before changing anything else. When I took it for a test ride down in Bristol I noticed the indicators and break light weren't working, checked the batt voltage - 6v, no matter how it was revved New rectifier fixed it, but it did cost me £55 (damn expensive genuine Piaggio part's!). Contrary to popular belief, once something's running right (you can't have a better chance of that with it professionally rebuilt and dyno setup scoot) I will leave it alone - honest

That's the plan Doesn't mean I don't have some visual mod's lined up for this one though, so watch this space I'll be able to do a proper test run tomorrow, it's been rather rainy today. Initial thoughts are that it's a bit iffy on initial take off (Andy warned me about it, we know the problem but want to wait and see if it improves as it breaks in) and it's bloody quick ;D

It started blowing fuses today Spent hours with a multimeter and an electrician (dad's are great ya know!) and nailed it down, a wire from the stater carrying 12v DC had come un-soldered and was touching the flywheel, creating a dead short to ground. It was a factory connection too I thought my run of bad luck was over!
