You got me thinking niz76 , so I pulled it out of the shed and whipped the CVT cover off for a nosy. Belt is down against the front of the drive boss, I can't get the camera in to that side though Evidently it isn't coming as far up the variator as I thought, just going by the marker lines. Sitting way down in the rear pulley These have a large pulley on them stock, but I would think it should use more of it than that! Also I do believe I found the issue Clutch is slipping like anything, I can hold still it on the spot almost to WOT, and that's on gravel!! I'd deglazed the shoes and the bell with 100g paper then blasted with brake cleaner, think I might have to break out the 36g haha The belt is a Bando 27601, the sliver of belt that came out was a Mitsuboshi 27601 and was a touch longer thanks to being stretched I'd say, think it's what has left the ring marking on the rear pulley.

Your belt is really VERY low on the rear pulley. Have you tried a longer belt? Best would be to be near or on the outer edge of the rear pulley.

Not yet, was just using what I had on hand. Will measure it up and see if I can find a belt closer to the right length locally.
Edit: looking on Google the stock belt is a 27601-25E00 which is 565.0 x 18.0 x 30. Can't find dimensions for the 4t belt that's in there now, Google says it should be 27601-32G10.

The belt I fitted yesterday was a 27601-32G10 and yeah was shorter than stock Had another stock 27601-25E00 among my junk, measured up at 16.3mm wide so it's worn but better than the 13.7mm belt I removed yesterday! Will order another new stock belt when I'm not flat broke! While I was in there I roughed up the clutch shoes and bell, much better! It's running the best it has since we've owned it now! I'm thinking lighter rollers will really improve it too, it accelerates all right to 30-35k (18-21mph) then it picks up and really takes off quick.

Very nice! Looks lot better. Take off seems to be strong and quick.

Well that sucked! Not fun at 70k. Thankfully the exhaust caught the wheel and locked it up rather than it overtaking me.

Yeah!! The factory nut wasn't a nylock it had an odd tight thread on the outside to hold it, I guess I didn't take that into account when I spaced the wheel out a touch. The new nut has a thick nylock ring and the thread goes right through it, so fingers crossed it doesn't happen again!

I'm fine, almost a code brown situation though haha I'm just lucky I used high grade bolts to hold the pipe on, if they had let go or I had my stock rusty pipe on things would have been very different!
My first thought when it started grabbing was another soft seize, but it was only 78c then I realized the RPMs where still up (I had headphones in so couldn't really hear the engine, dumb I know!) that's when the wheel locked hard and yeah. Worst bit thankfully, was pushing it for half an hour from where it locked up to the nearest trade supply store to get a nut, brought a spare too, as when you have a spare you never need it! haha

Summers almost here, scooter season is upon me lol Pulled the Let's out the other week and took it for a ride around the block. Voltage spikes up over 20v and the indicators and gauge were mucking around. I'm pretty sure the absolutely stuffed battery is playing a bit part in the problem, so am going to grab another battery and also swap out the reg/rect to a known good spare. Other than that it just needs a wash, some rego and the clutch I've still got to get around to ordering. Just from the quick ride the other day I was reminded it's got an issue with less take off once warm which I'm thinking is likely the clutch. First few times taking off it hooks up hard and wheelies etc but after maybe 15 minutes it doesn't until it's cold again. So either tune or clutch is my thinking. Also had this arrive this morning

Could be weak clutch springs or torque spring. Nice looking shock btw.

Good to see you again after a while. That's a nice shock especially if you need clearance from the tire. Looks like a KN shock.
