Personally I would look for a better project candidate. This one looks pretty rough. It's doable, but more parts bike material in my opinion. You'd have about what it cost for a nice one involved to make this one nice just at first glance. Now if the guy has most of the missing parts and would be willing to negotiate on price about 50% I'd say go for it. bigmike he's right, it depends on how much you are willing to spend on time and investment. I'm new to this whole entire zuma building world. A week and half actually and just purchased two in less than 5 days. I'm about to post pics up of the one I just got. Im impressed with the plastic guys like for real. All the screW holes on the backsides are good. But yeah bigmike, parts would be great on this bike. Talk the dude down man. My guy wanted 300 and I got him to 250 plus a trickle charger. My airbox just came today and I'll post that shortly too.

This one is pretty iffy. It would make a good parts bike if you had one that needed parts that were on this one. If I could get it for a hundred, I'd be knocking people out of the way to get it because there's profit in it at that price. But it is a start, too. Say, if you don't have a lot of spare cash but can throw a couple hundred a month at it then sure, it's doable. It's surely not a total loss.

OK so update....I got the airbox today. Thanks to PartsToRide ebay store (fast shipping and packaging). Installed and also snatched a new filter and NGK from the local shop. Fired right up and even took it around the block simply cause spaz12 twisted my good arm and did it. Rides good. Zuma is significant difference in riding than my taotao. I could feel the weight difference and solidity right away. Anyway, i only went around the neighbor hood and hit 35 with no GPS. It needs some slight tuning and stuff but im about to proceed with the build now that i know she is sound and does more than actually crank up.

Hey Scooter Fam, I havent been on here in a few days and have been beginning to miss this place haha. As far as update goes, i have managed to get some sanding and painting done. Got some electrical stuff straightened out. New ignition and seat latch cable installed works great. Love the ignitions from this guy btw, spaz12 sent me a link and if anyone needs one, the guy is super nice and quick shipping. www.ebay.com/itm/221835857893?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AITIm going to post some pics below of the different stuff. I also have some pics of the 04 I have been testing around and messing with. But back to 08 , so theres a guy here in Mebane, NC the runs a business called The Scooter Garage, some of you know him already and thanks again spaz12 for sharing the guy. He has gotten me the cheapest price ANYWHERE for the athena 70cc, but he also has a list of things for me that I will be purchasing. Once I get the final details worked out i will post them. Im really anxious to get some performance parts on this thing lol
Wet Sanding a primer coat. Im doing a trial on this on this front fender mold since it has that fibrous texture to it which is tough to paint. However with the right grit transition on sandpaper and the right amount of paint, i was able to get it smooth and look pretty damn decent.
Ok so here is the finished flat primer look i am going with temporarily for right now. Also please disregard the black handlebar cowl because that was an experiment gone bad. Ill explain later LMFAO YOu notice the front tire fender is missing, spaz12 pointed that out after i did most of the work and it was like getting dark so I managed to get it sanded (2 hours on that mofo) and one coat of Primer. Tomorrow I will get back at it. Im back at work now so its cutting in on my fun time.
There was some pretty intense dings and a big as* scratch across the front lip that took forever to get out all the way but it was worth it cause i love doing some body work. I have as much fun sanding and painting as tuning.

Making more progress than me, I've had some personal stuff eating up my scooter time. Between that and my wife spending all my money on vacations, I haven't done too much at all yet.

Dude i just went off yesterday lol. It was like 10:30 and i was still wanting to do stuff but it got really chilly last night here btw. I kinda been pushing myself to get my arm strength back up to par . I have to remind myself its still fractured cause it will if i dont. I forgot for a split second yesterday and went to push up off the ground with my elbows, lets just say i made up a few words to add in the curse book

Same here never owned a scooter till I was over 40, always had motorcycles. Brought one for my wife, was so much fun I had to get one too. Then I started tuning it and it was even better
