Greetings everyone! A couple weeks ago I purchased my 2016 (Adly) GTA 49cc 2T scooter straight off the lot. Put 117 miles on her the first day and she is currently at 963. It has surpassed my expectations and each time I ride I care more and more for this bike. Was educated and followed through on proper break in steps. I've done all servicing either on my own or with a friend, tranny fluid changed at 498 miles with Royal Purple; bunch of minor stuff like lock lubing. I've kept my injection oil to Maxima Fully Synthetic, for injection. 89 Unleaded Gas; something about the more octane, the less energy. I'm familiar with 2T and 4T advantaged/disadvantages. Before I bought the scooter I did a bunch of research to make sure I would make a quality purchase! But I'm having trouble reading up on modifications/tuning. There seems to be a very small user base when it comes to my specific bike. Some other 2-strokes don't have enough resemblance for me to 'fill in the gaps' on tutorials. So I joined up here! I'm willing to learn and listen from all of you, as I'd really appreciate your help on getting started!
*Basically I'm dead-set on upgrading my Scooter but I don't know what to prod at first!* Much good fortune to your 49cc's of Glory! -Sean, TheGoombaaTree

Congrats on a nice bike. What are your goals as far as modifying goes?

Do you have a warranty and if so,how long does it last? I would not do any upgrades until the warranty period expires. Just my opinion.

Congrats on a nice bike. What are your goals as far as modifying goes? Hey, thanks! My goals are essentially to pack more power into my bike. I'd like the ability to climb hills better but I also want to get a higher top end speed. Which from what I've read, usually are two separate tuning settings. I live in a very awkward area. Around my house are hills steep enough to drop me down to 15-20mph, then after those I have long flat straight aways that let me climb up to 40-45 -Actual GPS speed (Speedometer reads more around 55mph, isn't true) As for the warranty it's Adly's 2 year coverage. The thing is, the dealer in which I bought it from didn't follow the inspection procedure required to keep my bike validated, so I'm not where I stand. I'm trying to find and link the warranty but no dice! Thanks again for the welcomed r e, sorry about the delayed reply!

If your warranty is still in effect,I would recommend trying different variator weights. Experiment to get the best results. You may find that lighter weights will help with the hills and possibly get your engine into it's powerband. Most stock roller weights are too heavy which keeps the speeds down.

Alright, I will do this first! What's the best way for me to find Roller/Sliders that are compatible with my bike? I've been looking under my bike model but perhaps I should be searching the engine rather than the bike? Is that how its' done? And swapping them seems simple enough, but if anyone has a tutorial that they recommend I'd love to watch it!

I sorta agree with derbiman about the warranty... ALTHOUGH, swapping out a cylinder and pipe only takes a couple hours at most. Anything happens, swap it back to original. Just sayin

Manuals, YouTube, Calculators and Forum Help. Check out Brent's YouTube video's and you'll find a couple I believe on cvt tuning.

That should be a Minarelli/1E40QMB 2T engine. Body panels and wiring diagrams and things like that may vary, but the engine itself should be very similar to what many of us have and have documented upgrades on. Check out the 2T section of the Tech Library for some ideas, as well as other areas.

Thank you spaz! Looking into all of this now. I gotta give the dealer a call and see about my warranty, derbiman. Because the winter is coming and I could face unforeseen problems. 90GTVert, that's what I thought aswell. Maybe I'm just overlooking something or I'm unfamiliar with all of this. Either way, I'll open her up soon and try to see if I can recognize the configuration the second time around. Thank you And thanks for the welcome aeroxbud!

I would say go for a big bire kit, pipe and variator, then some tunng items will get you going real well.

Welcome to the madness lol. The adly is a nice bike. There are a few things different from the standard longcase clone motors. They are a combination shortcase tranny stretched out to make a longcase motor with a long belt. They use a shortcase tranny and clone gears fit but the secondary (wheel axel) is a smaller spline on the adly The stator and flywheel and fan are adly specific but you can swap them out as a whole assembly with a standard clone setup. Adly moto 90 and artic cat atv motors are available if you look that are direct bolt ins but in a 90cc. Adly atv gears will drop in and fit your wheel and give you about a 8.8:1 gear ratio. Belt cover is adly/artic cat specific. Pipes for a long case clone should fit ok. They are well built bikes with a pipe and bbk you should be able to see 50 mph cruise speed Hope this helps. Niz is running a adly 90 in his bike and I've got 2 in the garage ready to go in bikes
