I've been planning to post this build for some time now, but just got around to it. It's a yamaha spy, similar to US zuma I think. It used to belong to one of my friends, he crashed it nearly 6 years ago, and then left the country to search for work, leaving the scoot to rot. Fast forward, after asking him every time when he comes on vacation about the scoot, this summer I finally bought it of him. This is what it looked like on day 1 Forks and stem that came off it Engine case had a crack near the exhaust mount Vario missing and everything covered in oil Bunch of spares Gruesome, horrific. polini Piston with one ring missing, and the other trapped in the groove Cleaning up and removing paint A lick o' paint Welded and primed the cases Got nice forks and stem from an aerox, decided to use the carbon coated ones on my scoot, and my forks on the booster Rubber is new Assembling And finally how it looks now: That's it for today,a few more wires need connecting, piston, intake valve and kickstarter are on the way. Inner panels are painted and will be installed today, outer panels are being sanded and should be primed tonight or tomorrow. Setup: Polini sport 70 G.S.P. by Giannelli pipe Mikuni vm16 karb No name sport vario Pod filter

Nice work bud. I like that you put an aerox front fork in it. Btw, Is that piston caved in or is it just the lighting?

Take your time on the prep work. Make sure there are no visible scratches before you paint. Patience is the key to a perfect paint job.
