I can't believe this topic is still active. It pretty much lulled me to sleep last Tuesday...
this contradicts the topic you just opened, you know you yourself. i dotn believe a 4 stroke is got a 30 minute timer to install it and should be a good or right reply to someone. i dont believe that line should ever be used ever. ever in any everyday situation or conversation.
you konw why? becuase you as a 4 stroke installer, have expected, and thats the problem, everything else to of been done before hand for you. you push some buttons its done, come tell some guy, with problems, it can be done quickly.
you said, swap a 4 stroke top end. thats another statement that implies everythings already been done for you before hand. from the perspective of this guy in this topic. the way this is, you guys should pay me before you do work on my car. but thats NOT how it is is it?
yuo where swapping, which means one is on it. you have to remove everything, oko no so hard. and maybe a little spraying, carb cleaner, wiping a few thigns, its clean enough to pull apart. then oh, gasket sticks here. on the block. you drop a rag in the case to keep stuff from falling in it, and scrape it off. unless your like mine and get pulled apart enough it comes off in 1 piece.
you've got the valves to check for leaks, unless everythigns been done for you before hand.
you got ring ends to gap, unlesss, again eerythgings been done for you before hand. this, statement you made shouldnt be used in everyday conversation..
ya got to lap the valves, but compared to this guys job, he wasnt doing it. so i guess we can compare your resopnse to his question on that .. remove the valve air leak, lap check, but it would be a full rebuild. even if its new. go watch some guys who rebuild heads, and port them for racing about these new heads, and you expect china stuff to be good quality. the head is part of a 4 stroke and should be included in any conversation and not taken and abused.
anyway, so gasket scraping, removing the old block, you are answering him, and your daily schedule doesnt fit in his aggravated time. you where hurrying him. if this doesnt bode with you, i dont know, first you should pay me before you work on my car. and second you shouldnt answer me any in any topics that i make. we'll be good then. but if you insist to respod to someone aggravated wiith your daily schedule included in your reply, just don't bother with it.
you shoud of had to remove the entire engine, scrape the gaskets, assumed he was finished with his valves, not included that but you didnt even bother with anything like that, done a ring end gap.
...
should of cleaned honing dust. i dont ever trust any place to clean it out. dawn and a paper towel and hot water, put a little dawn on the paper towel, after you wet it, and wipe. dry with a rag. spray wd40, let sit a minute to soak up any water, and wipe out again to spread the wd40 around and wipe up any water. then oil the whole thing before you install it.
theres like 3 steps you forgot, and you where even rushing i nyour response to anyone else, as your not actually, rebuilding a bike, swapping it. whatever THAT means. your expecting all the work to be done, push a couple of buttons, and come online and tell everybody about it.
well woopty doo you helped rush an impatient person aggravted into breaking a ring. if you dot care aobut this topic, why you have a whole another topic opened about it. good job. congratulations. you guys who work on cars, seriously should pay me to work on mine. because you have every excuse in the world to fuck up, with no caution being tooken by you.
