Sorry to hear it. I'm glad you are getting on to tell us about it. That's a good sign. Otherwise, hope you and the scoot aren't too bad off.

Right, an update. It was a combination of a line of potholes and the gravelly center of the road that decked me. I've removed the skin from most protruding limbs, particularly bad is my left knee and right ankle, they've been X-rayed and nothing's broken, just sort of shredded My ankle has a gouge around 1/2" long that won't stop bleeding. It can't be stitched as there's nowt left to stitch :help: Well, least I can still hobble  My shoes, pants and jacket and shredded and the whole right side of the scoot is smashed in. Looking at around £200 in parts to repair it.

Well, nothing being broken is really good news. Road rash blows, but other than the very severe it tends to be easier to deal with than broken bones. Other good news, you'll probably have some rad scars now. lol Bad news... you're gonna be hobbling worse tomorrow morning. The day after is always the worst with this type of crash.
Did you at least get to experience "crash time"? It felt like everything was slow-mo for all of my wrecks. It's scary, but it would be cool as hell if not for knowing it's gonna hurt. lol Adrenaline is pretty amazing stuff.
Also, gotta ask... how fast were you going?
So you think the damage is all cosmetic to the scoot?
I wish you a speedy recovery, and if you ever feel like it post up some pics of the carnage.

I don't drive WOT all the time  I've investigated further, the only damage is to various side body panels and the front mudguard. My yasuni survived fine, no damage at all, strange considering it fell on that side. I seem to have avoided any scrape damage, as the same mud that contributed to the crash also cushioned my and the scooters slide down the road. Plenty of impact damage though. Ah yes, the old slow motion/brace yourself/oh shit, this is gunna hurt. It might be the first time this scoot has been down, but it's by no means my first crash. I remember riding my old 139QMB in a foot of snow, I came off on the same road

Ah, damn. For your sake I was hoping you were doing 70 since I already knew you were fine. lol When you tell people that don't ride or haven't crashed that you crashed at 35MPH some seem to think it's nothing. Beautiful road.

Beautiful road. I think if I repeated that at 70 I'd probably be legless or something! Nice road, isn't it. Don't you wish your roads were like that? Legally, those potholes should have been repaired within 24hrs of being reported. There's now a sign up saying the road will be closed for repairs - in 3 weeks time

There are roads like that around here, but not many... and I'm wise enough to avoid them. J/K. I had to. What good would friends be if they didn't add insult to injury?

Didn't have much choice, it's the only way to the next town without a trip down the dual carriageway! The roads into the city are mostly fine, good as I normally go as fast as I can without crashing on the corners. If a pothole like that did spring up there I'd be even sorer than I am now. I'm going to take the opportunity presented by the downtime to some more tuning :riding:

You gotta respect a road like that at least til you learn it. I topped an unfamiliar dirt/gravel road once and encountered a huge crater - probably close to two feet long and four or more inches deep. It launched me off the seat and I lost control and, no, it was not in slow motion. My arse looked two eggplants side-by-side for close to a week after that. It jammed my pipe up against the cooling fan shroud and there is still a melted spot there. I had to give my pipe the freeze treatment to get the rock dints out.
