Found this little chap tonight wandering outside by my Aprilia Habana at ours didn't run off, appeared to know where I was by sound of shoes crunching but not visual eye appeared white moved away to move car hedgehog didn't move. West Wales Hedgehog Centre notified. Now living in box in car with food and water till it goes and gets checked over.   |

Hedgehog now at rescue centre. Never knew their poo stunk so much till I opened car door this morning 🙂

I have left him there he is now called Charlie and resting and now I am a volunteer for the place, not sure how that happened but do remember a saying what my mum use to use something about " Fast talking women talking to slow thinking men " Maybe that's what happened to me 🤔 UPDATE Charlie had major surgery on 2-3cm cut on his abdomen and a testicle removed and has a sore toe. Been picked up from the vet's and now back at Hedgely Hogspital Hedgehog Rescue.   |

You got me thinking about "a testicle removed" I assume he has one left? And why in general do mammals have two in the first place? Two eyes gives us depth perception, two ears give us stereo hearing and better ability to locate direction of sounds. Two feet allow us to walk, two hands I dunno. Two testicles is a mystery to me. Time to hit the web Lol. |

A follow up from a few weeks ago when I took Charlie the hedgehog to Hedgely Hogspital Hedgehog Rescue who did a marvelous job with him and without them he would have been lost due to needing major surgery.
Today I released him in our back garden within 30 feet of where he was found. I put him in a Hedgehog house with food outside so in a couple of days he should find his bearings and saunter off. I was surprised how much weight he has put on. A big thank you to all at the Hogspital. X

they look quite a bit like a porcupine. also like a shoe brush you set by the front door

I have a hog gap under my garden gate,we have quite a few on our housing estate it,s bordered by roads but then fields and woodland,sadly the road gets some of them.never heard of the badger v,s hedgehog thing.
