I've spent the last two days laying on my sofa watching movies. Maybe today will be the day I finish it.

So, I've been working on this damn cylinder for a couple hours now and it's going terribly slow. I read the bottle and come to find out this is only 14.4 percent Hydrochloric acid. Pretty tame. I knew something was wrong because there is hardly any smell. Hell, when I was a kid the crap sent me to the hospital for taking a big whiff of it! This does nothing. Ugh. So now I'm soaking small strips of gauze in the acid and placing it on the bad spots. I think it's working? If it wasn't such an expensive cylinder I'd just give up.

The acid on the gauze seems to be working pretty good. Hopefully it will be more betterer before I go to sleep.

Next question: Assuming that it comes out nice and smooth, is it worth it to buy a 75 dollar piston and ring set (w/ piston pin) and a 9 dollar gasket set? The cylinder costs 225 dollars right now on scootertuning.com. Of course I'll post some really close up pictures so that anyone could make a better judgement. I've never tried this, so I'm totally clueless

That sounds like a better and cheaper solution, but where does a person find the quality Taiwanese Pistons? The cylinder is an MHR Rep. I believe it's a 47mm bore? I'm not sure at the moment, but I'll look it up after doctors appointment.
