hey man i appreciate your advice and calmness as i am not very calm on this one. It is crazy that I can rebuild some of the most complicated automotive engines out there but this little scooter has me wanting to invest in dynamite. So far I have removed the snorkel from my airbox as well as drilled holes in the back of it. Ripped my muffler in half, Drilled my jet out to a 101, and changed the carb back to the stock mikuni. It is just crazy how it is happening. I unplugged the auto enricher so that I don't have to guess if it is on or off. The motor will run like a champ for the first minute or so and then it goes all to hell. That is with the auto enricher plugged or unplugged. I am taking your advice and getting the jets. But it just baffles me that it can run so good and get me just far enough from home that it pisses me off to have to push it back. I believe you and am not at all arguing with you at all it just baffles me how that can be the cause of this problem. Hell I am just venting after a frustrating day of messing with scoot.

Dude, you are so not alone in this, so please dont feel like your the first to be stumped by the ole 2T demon. These puppies are a finicky breed of their own in the powersport hobby. I gotta pretty good background in automobiles and other motorized vehicles also but i have baffled by the 2T more than any other engine out there. The scooter 2T the most out of them all. Its different with a shifter motor 2T. They can afford to be a little lean or rich. They fall on their face, you just shift and its over till the next gear. Not with scooter motor though, oh no! I no a guy thats works in a local shop working on automobiles. He "knows it all" till he works on his S9 lol. Then its "wtf?, how the hell?" Just remember to walk away from it if needed.... Keep it simple as possible with only one change at a time. I really wish i had some good advice for you here other than relating to what you are saying. Have you looked into Bells book? That mans book helped my ALLOT with the stuff that was puzzling, or i just wanted to know more about.

Running well for the first minute might just be telling you it's too rich. Cold engines need more fuel.

God love ya 2t boys and I know power is fun but I love my 4t's lol, simple. Bill if you ever want some company while you tinker, Let me know and I will cruise over, misery loves company Do you have a garage? Air tools? Since my shop burned I have nowhere inside to work on anything I would like to do this BBK indoors on a bench. Maybe we can help each other although my 2t knowledge and experience is nill except for theory.

No, I have not gotten mine to run yet. I just took my spring break down to TX for a car show. Last I heard it was not running right. They said it was a stator issue or CDI... Its new so wtf. I will have to give scrappy a call probably to see if I get something resolved cause like you said I am kinda pissed I paid for a $400 paperweight. - Derek

well i now offically have a $400 paperweight. The motor seized up on me this morning. the plug was black so it is not like it was running lean. I am thinking stator issue is what caused this problems anyway as my cdi still works great on the old motor. I just talked with rich and he said he would warranty the parts if I figure out what the problem is but I didnt sign up for all of this I bought a complete motor that was supposed to run. I am obviously competent enough to put my old motor back in and get it running great with a new carb so it must not be me doing this. Please let me know of any progress and maybe we can work together to show him that this is maybe a defect.

That blows. I would have said "yeah thats my kind of luck" but my luck seems to be turning because everything I did today turned out killerrrrr...
blue racing cdi, upped to an 88 main..carb needle is STILL all the way up..its just begging for either the 47mm from RD or the 50mm from the cat on craigslist. I still have the other one too, its under a tarp and on craigslist waiting for a buyer...supposedly i have a kid coming tomorrow.
If you need an extra hand putting the old motor back in, Id be happy to help you. -J

:swear: people suck, I have had 2 people say they were coming to look at the new bike then never showed up. I have lowered the price to $900. $800 to you.
I will sell you mine for $700 but I would take my go fast goodies off and put it back stock. its got 1300 miles right now, runs great.
