Well, since the engine isn't part of Chris's grades, I have an idea to help performance a little. I have previously slotted the mounts for the pickup coil, giving me a few degrees of adjustable timing. When built the engine, I checked durations with a degree wheel. I can't find my numbers atm, but seem to remember 176 and one twenty something found some of my measurements this morning and found my compression ratio was around 8.5-1. Not very impressive. I believe I can raise this a bit without causing heat issues. I have the actual number for the compression, it was 125 at the time. Low, imo, but still serviceable.
I have read Bell's book three or four times cover to cover since then. I am not even dreaming that I know exactly what I am doing, but I do feel more comfortable when thinking of modifying the case, to raise primary compression, by filling a few spots with a real good epoxy. Any body have a suggestion of what brand to use??? A professional engine builder here has mentioned step cutting the head after shimming the jug. A sound idea, if I've ever heard one. A new carb is on the menu, as the nineteen mm Mikuni I have now, may be a little too restrictive. I am not trying to make it into a full screamin demon, but I know there's more in it. I do understand that there are limits as to what a stock crank can handle, but the pipe I have seems to drop off a tad over nine grand. I saw 9800 once down hill on the tiny tach, but never above. The pipe seems to make its best power from about five grand to eight hrand, and then falls sharply. I also think that there may be baffles inside of this pipe, as I have rinsed it with k1 and it took quite a bit to make it run out. If I can find a good enough welder I plan on having the chamber cut open and remove the baffles, before welding it back

Thanx, Brent.
I plan on rebuilding the engine, with a closer eye to technical issues. Ex. Correct compression ratios, bmep, and dynamic flow patterns in the jug.

Ouch. My part of the build may be on hold for a while. When my thumb was caught in the winch cable last week, it really screwed some shit up. The doc says that the sudden jerk and being lifted by the thumb and wrist has caused an injury to create a painful disorder called de Quervain’s Tenosynovitis. Basically the tendons responsible for moving my thumb have torn the little tunnel they run through. Also the retractor tendon is partially torn. I may need to have an operation on my hand to restore function. It's also gotten me fuc$% fired. Well, " laid off " for the winter. Any body that has been laid off knows that its just a p.c. way of saying you have been sacked. I am talking to a workers comp. lawyer Thursday.
My wrenching has got to be put on hold. I have chronic carpol tunnel in both wrists, so using lefty is nearly just as painful. Thank God I am married. lol!!

I was told this tgb I picked up for parts has a mad max look. Kinda. I've grown fond of the ammo boxes and bmx handlebars. It's going to become my summer plan.

Sonuvabitch!!!!!!!!!!!
I believe I am screwed. I had Jr, out for a very short ride a bit ago. She sounds like a damn thrashing machine. I pulled the jug, seems as though the big end bearing is shot. Got what feels like almost 1/8 th of an inch fore to back play, that was not there a couple of weeks ago.
IMO, while having those base leaks, it was running major lean. Not good for bearings. Why couldn't this happen before I messed my hand up?? That sucks.
Now I Gotta locate an affordable option for a replacement. If the price ain't way too much, might as well get a good one instead of a stock replacement.
Does anyone have any suggestions?? This little scoot, is a member of my family now. A hell of a lot of sentimental value, and it actually hurts me to see her broken like this. Like seung a loved one in the hospital.
Shit, all i wanted to do, is take a ride after I painted that pipe. Well, glad it happened to me, and not Christipher , who BTW got an A 98% on the project. Shocking since His teacher was such a jack off!!
Also, the wire "box" we built, was ditched in favor of putting all if the wiring inside the seat bucket. the wires that needed to come out were ran through appropriately sized holes, then clear silicone was used to seal the holes. I can unplug two clips and the plug wire, then pull the seat bucket, with all of the wire harness.

I found a nice +2mm crank, full circle stuffed, at aliexpress.com, for 55$$.
I was kinda wondering if it would be worth it. Does anyone have any expieriance with parts from them??

Well, I pulled the ETon into the old house, and started tearing it down, got the engine pulled, getting ready to split the cases.
I do have another stock crank, from moofus, but I need to rethread the threads on one end or the other, I can't recall ATM. I just remember fouling the threads on one end, while either installing or removing it. I also, think I remember a pretty bad rough spot in the rotation of the big end, after running it for a short time. I could be wrong, hope I am.
To my eyes, that aliexpress crank, looks familiar, its either identical or very similar to a big name crank that I looked at recently. Could be wrong, probably am. Still, it would be an awesome find if it was the same as a bigger name, just made for a different branding.
