I had the same issue with a atv, when low on gas and run wot the fuel would be in back of the tank away from the pet cock I think the pump will fix you up. Looks like a fun cruise, I hate you. wish I was in a coastal town

I didn't even used to wear a helmet! I do now, also usually wear gloves and shoes but often guilty of riding "Tom Hanks style". Personal choice really. I tend not to judge other riders who choose to exercise their freedom to not wear helmets or safety gear.

The facet fuel pump I chose has a max pressure of 2 psi w/pressure relief valve. Hopefully that'll be right in the ballpark of what's needed (this model is designed for use on ATV's) and not overtake the float needle at idle. I have read of others using a regulator for more powerful pumps. The pump also pushes fuel better than pull it so if I mount it below the petcock w/filter inline before it, it shouldn't have any problem pushing the fuel up the 12" I need it to... (says capable of 50" lift).
I have high hopes for this sucka!

Looks like youve done your homework!2 psi should be good and pumps are 'pushers' is the key to setting them up..
I'm a full gear guy when riding sport bikes, but I gotta admit more than a few "jet check" rides have been conducted with sparse clothing...

Yep that's exactly what happened with my 70mph seize- just a quick "test ride" and it felt so good next thing I know I've got "2t fever" with the throttle pinned wearing friggin flip flops. Not my mostest smartest moment! Doh!

I bit it good on a kx125 doing a wheelie around 40mph across a parking lot. Had a helmet on and ground a flat spot hole through my helmet. I always wear a helmet I skimp on the clothing during summer months.skin and bones will heal for the most part, maybe a few surgeries. What really worries me is hitting a pole or something.

Not to get all morbid, but I wear a helmet because I can't bear to think that my girls would lose their daddy because he was too stubborn or lazy or just plain dumb to wear a helmet. I kinda doubt shoes or a pair of riding gloves would save my life but a helmet just might! That's my reason for wearing a helmet anyway... FLA is a no helmet state and every day I see tons of riders on crotch rockets in shorts, no shirt, and no helmet. Most Harley dudes just let their hair fly also but I do see a handful- maybe 40%- of riders who do choose to wear a brain bucket even though it's not required. Happy to say I'm in that 40% now!

If you have to ride at least be safe as possible. I know a lady died last week going up a driveway on an atv. Hit a bump flew off hit her head and that was it. Could have been prevented, can't say I like them but an once of prevention is better than a pound of cure.

There was a nineteen yearoldkid killed here a few months ago wile riding a scooter. He was T-boned by a car at 5:30 in the morning. He was wearing a helmet, leather jacket gloves and boots. The idiot that hit him was doing fourty in a fifteen mph apartment parking lot. The scooter hab led lights, and brightwite underflow lights as well.
Safety gear is always a great idea. I am guilty of riding without a helmet, although the kids and wife are not allowed to get on a bike without a helmet, long pants an a riding jacket..I am guilty of being a hypocrite. But I also have seen many bike accidents, with riders of both persuasions, helmeted and not. Seems that one of the biggest facts for survival rates is speed, traffic, then safety gear. I know a helmet is a hella good idea, but I am of the persuasion, if it's my time, it's my time. Kentucky doesn't require a helmet fr riders over 21.

Got the electric fuel pump installed! It was kinda late by time I finished the install so I haven't driven it yet. In this vid you can see the pump working and pumping fuel. Once I connected the fuel line to the carb it really quieted down and of course since it's not just max pumping all the time it's not near as loud as it is in the vid and there's no foaming. I have it mounted on the access panel under the fuel tank on a pieces of rubber hose so she's well insulated from vibration. It's mounted at a slight angle to promote the pushing of fuel and not pulling, however the directions do show that you can mount the pump completely horizontal with no issues (but the way I have it mounted is the preferred method). It's all connected now and all is well! Even with the key on and the scoot not running the pump is not overtaking the needle valve (it's designed for carbureted ATV's) so absolutely no signs of flooding or leaking. Can't wait to test ride it tomorrow! I'll be running the exact same jetting as when I soft seized it . Stay tuned!

I took her for a test ride today- my test ride route to Walmart as it has the best long stretches of WOT around here. Everything went swimmingly on the way there- maybe 5 miles- but on the way back I thought I heard some detonation and only 5 seconds or so later a "poof" sound from the engine and lost all power. Arrrgghh! Cue the three mile "walk of shame" There was no soft seize or lockup, just a sudden loss of compression...
I have the timing set at a quite modest 18 deg. and saw a high temp of 325 on the CHT gauge. I haven't opened it up yet but there's very little compression. I'm guessing the head gasket blew or even worse- a hole in the piston. Hope not!
I'm kinda stumped here as there weren't any real extreme speeds or anything on this ride. The "poof" happened at maybe 55-60mph and I always use 93 octane fuel. I do, however spend a lot of time at partial throttle in 4th gear and can't exactly remember where I have the needle set- I think it's one notch richer than the middle slot but can't remember 100%.
I've been eliminating issues one by one but still can't seem to get this thing tuned just right. Grrr- very frustrating! I'm wondering now if my modified stock head w/head gasket isn't a tad too small cc wise... Hmm. not many issues left I need to solve but she certainly isn't cutting me any slack!

That's tough. I thought you had this all sorted out. I hope you find a blown head gasket but you may be on something with the head being shaved. That may be what happened to the original piston. Let us know what you find.

Keep at it!Part throttle is a 2T killer,,They love WFO,but part throttle allows exhaust gasses to wash back into the transfers before they flow causing mixture dilution and lean meltdown..Even the worlds top tuners have this problem, only cure is part throttle rich(stutter),proper head and pipe design..Indications of exhaust wash back are blackening of the transfer ports..
