Scooter scene is dead here. I am one of the last dying breed. They all moved on to larger engines like Honda PCX or Yamaha Cygnus. Both 125cc 4T.
You can get some parts here, mostly Malossi stuff and Stage6 but way overpriced. It is cheaper for me to import the stuff than to buy it here. The only positive thing I saw this month was webike.net start to sell Athena stuff but here again way to expensive. Normal Athena BBK (not evo version) is around $ 300! Even though shipping is expensive i can get it cheaper.
That is why I was glad to see the monster Jog guy and the Kymco Super 9 guy at the local bike shop those two were so excited to see a foreigner with a customized Jog.

Well, it's not much better here. Don't get me wrong there are a lot, a lot of Scooters driving on the streets but they are not tuned or customized. These are daily drivers that go to work only.

I think that's a true statement for Vegas as well. A lot of Chinese scoots with next to none of them modded. I rarely see any Honda, Yamaha or Vespa's. Even more rarely do I see a modded one of those and when I do I'll chase them down to try to talk to them.

Hey, but over here is no different! We USED to have a thriving scooter tuning scene...but thats something of the past. The only thing that remains are piles and piles of 2nd hand performance parts from that past era. Everything here are 4t vespa's and 4t chinese scoots. Both things i totally lack interest in eventhough they are still scooters.....but 4t...

I'm curious of Polini variator's as well. Been trolling the search function on the Kymco forum, and it seems most ppl say they actually lost 2-3 mph off the top end. None of the threads mention a roller weight change, so I think it's due to not changing roller weights to dial in the new variator but idk. It seems not many people use the Polini stuff. Think its due to quality or price? I've found one for the same price as the Malossi so, I'm very interested in reviews or opinions. Sorry to just barge in.

Lucky! Looks like the sale for the Evo variator finished. Only the normal hi-speed is on sale now.

Ok got the package today.
1st, The back plate has no teeth and the hole is very large. Without the back plate being able to move the Variator won't work, right? Or did I misunderstood something here?
2nd, the Variator face had finger prints all over it even though the box was sealed with a Polini sticker I might sound a bit picky here but I just don't like that.
I try to keep a calm mind here because I don't want to paint the devil on the wall and switch to panic mode right away so.... How do you install the Evo Variator on a 13mm stock crank? Is it possible that the front plate pushes the boss that strong on the back plate that the back plate can turn with it? Make sense?

A lot of aftermarket variators are only splined on the fixed face

A lot of aftermarket variators are only splined on the fixed face Oh really? Has this to do with the force that an Evo type engine generates? That the teeth might not be able to handle such force?
