So my friend Vince and i headed south for a planned 200 ish mile ride. About 80 miles south his Kymco made a sound like a garbage disposal eating a spoon, farted a cloud of smoke and died.
We pulled over by a farm and asked them if we could lock the scoot up to their fence. "No way, you have to bring it in and hide it behind our pickup or it will get stolen." "Come back when ever, we'll leave the gate unlocked for you" Very cool of them.
Jumped on my bike and went on down the road to a pizza joint where all the bikers stop on the way to Peels Ferry. The owner connected us to a local towing CO who offered to carry the scoot back to Springfield for $360. SERIOUSLY!!!
So we got on the phone to anyone we could think of trying to get someone to drive down and pick the scoot up.
We were not having any luck and the guy at the table next to us slid over to talk to us. He was on an afternoon ride on his Goldwing. He offered to ride home 2 hours, get his pickup, drive back 2 hours and then carry us a a further 2 hours home. Basically would have cost him about 8 hours out of his Saturday! What an amazing offer of kindness.
Before he headed out we finally got ahold of a friend who could come down form Springfield.
Home safe and sound and happy for the reminder that there are still lot's of kind people out there.

That's good to hear. I been there with 2 quads on a trailer and a flat. And once with a ProStreet Car broke in the wrong part or town. Yes, good people Thanks.

That was definitely a generous offer. Glad you found a bud though, so you got to get home and the kind fellow got to continue the ride he planned.

Update on Vince's Kymco:
Catastrophic failure at 2K miles. Guess we ride those Twisties too hard. ;D
Looks like the wrist pin failed. Maybe... Results, piston is now one with the cylinder and rotated about 30 degrees from how it should sit. Looks like one valve (at least) hit the piston. Lots of miscellaneous bits of metal from the lower cylinder, piston and who knows what else is littering the internal cavities. Guess that is why the compression test show "0"...
Yup, that 2 year warranty is looking very good right about now.

Thanks Robert. We were very glad the thing didn't lock up.
"Shout out" to Kymco. In less than a week Tim & Brian (Ozark Power Sports) had a new motor installed. AND with an additional 2 year warranty on the motor! That's an impressive way to run a scoot business.

Wow. That is impressive. So could I get a Kymco and just keep blowing the motor a year and 11 months in? lol

Ha! Good idea but it's probably a lot to do with the OPS guys.
But hey you could always move to the Ozarks. lol
