It makes me wonder if we'll see less scooters this riding season. The biggest boom in scoots came when gas prices got really high. I actually saw a few scoots regularly around my area back then. Gas prices got lower and I quit seeing most of them or even seeing random scooters more than a couple of times a year unless I went to the beach. I guess I can't expect much when in this state large numbers of people sold their scooters a few years ago because a few bucks for registration and $50-100/yr insurance and a helmet law made scooters totally pointless and not worth the effort to them. Roughly $2 here for premium BTW.

I paid NZ$1.77 per litre today, that's the cheapest it's been in a while!
Works out to be about US$4.40 a gallon.

This is definitely the case. Inversely connected for sure.
At least it may be good for the buyer's market...
oh, and coincidently, took this in Green Valley, AZ (not Henderson... heh)
$1.35 Crazy time warp...

I'm glad that the fuel prices are so low (here in the states anyway), but it makes no sense to me. I've heard something about an excess or something? How do we have an excess of oil when more the half the oil is gone? Sorry, I just don't buy it and I think someone's up to no good. Brent has a good point about people giving up their scoots and getting cars if this low fuel price trend stays the way it is for a while, which sucks because I think more people should get scooters. At least to go back and forth to work on. Can you imagine the fuel that would be saved if only half the American population rode a scooter to work? I think they'd need to raise the speed laws on scoots first though because no one wants to be the jerk on a scoot holding up traffic. Cheers to wishful thinking

I think it was something about driving American oil companies out of business? I really don't know though.

I think it's OPEC trying to break the frackers in the US and Canada. Lot's of them are small companies and have invested a lot of cash in equipment. Now that Iran has come online it won't help them at all. Was at $1.38 in Nashville the other day. I bet it's cheaper than that in Shreveport LA.
