I extended the foot pegs a bit more using another section of 80/20 extrusion, and took a long test ride. The extended pegs coupled with the honda elite seat is near perfect for me. I definitely sit a bit lower which adds stability. I am getting kinda tired of the looks I get, part of which is due to the rats nest of wiring flying in the wind. I am going to do something about it this winter...... Maybe 😁

I have been wanting a real chamber pipe for my Kymco for quite a while. There are some nice pipes out there for the SC10/AF16 platform but they are costly, and there is no $ in the scooter budget on the foreseeable horizon. I have an assortment of pipes but they are for other motor platforms. Since I already had the pipe off of the Kymco to replace the exhaust gasket I decided to test fit the various pipes I have to see if any of them come close to fitting the Kymco. None of the pipes even came close to fitting the Kymco as they are. However the Yasuni R pipe that is made to fit the Derby Piaggio motor looks to me like it could fit if I cut two possibly three joints in the pipe and reclock them. It would end up like an up and over pipe similar to the way the slick polini pipe they make for the AF16 looks.

Sadly some of the SC10/AF16 parts are getting harder to find. Iv been eyeing the Peugeot Speedfight for exhaust options other than the hand full that are available here in the states @ premium prices. Granted the Speedfight pipes will need some tweaking to fit. I have no doubt you will get what you have now to work.

Sadly some of the SC10/AF16 parts are getting harder to find....... That is a Big Bummer, I really like the SC10 platform for some reason. .....I have no doubt you will get what you have now to work. The Yasuni R for Piaggio was a surprisingly cheap pipe when I got it, so if I screw it up no big deal. I originally got it to use on the Derbi, but ended up getting a C16 for the Derbi so I will never need this Yasuni R for anything else. I have long been wanting to make a pipe or something, and this shortcut mod hack should satisfy my needs.

There's nothing like an afternoon of cutting metal and the smell of burning cut off wheels. 1st cut 2nd cut To clear the frame better the first section after the flange will need to be shortened, so I cut the first section off. Here is another picture of the flange above. It seems to connect ok to the current Airsal cylinder on this scoot, but I dont know how well it would work on a cylinder such as the Polini Corsa that will be eventually installed back on this scoot. This is the flange that came with the other Yasuni pipe (C16) I have. I like the way it matches up better, and it is shorter than the original flange that came with this pipe. 190mech Do you think shortening the pipe from its original length by about 1" at the flange will have a negative effect? I will still need to cut 1 more section from the pipe body in order to clock it so the mounts point down. And then I believe the stinger will need to be cut and reclocked. I am going to braze everything back together with either 45% silver solder, or brazing rods like ryan_ott used on his pipe.

Are you removing the restrictor on the inlet piece ?

If you shorten I think you'll raise the peak power rpm. I'm not sure by how much. I'm sure I'll be fine for what it is. If you have good fitting pieces you may be able to just gas weld. Ive never had such luck with my equipment. John does a nice job.

Are you removing the restrictor on the inlet piece ? Restrictor already gone, thats an old picture I had. Does not really matter because I just brazed the flange meant for the Yasuni C16 to the header. I hope Yasuni sells the flange piece separately so I can replace it.

Ive never had such luck with my equipment. John does a nice job. I guess I be finding out sooner or later! I have a pack of the rods you used on your pipe, but I wanted to try my 45% silver and paste flux because I have used it before. I just brazed the flange piece to the first bend pipe and it looked awesome......but I somehow used the wrong marks and it ended up clocked wrong I just heated it all back up good and pulled it apart. Its a good thing it was a small diameter piece because I could not have done that with a larger diameter part, I would have had to cut it apart. Its not near as pretty now, but who cares? Lol I only had about 7" of 45% solder, so I am finished brazing until tomorrow.

Nice looking work Dude!Yep,shortening it will raise the RPM peak,if you can get a total length of the finished pipe,it'll be easy to calculate.. We still have our CNC plasma cutter running,if any of y'all need a header flange, just holler!!

Have you verified if the seat bucket will still fit with your new pipe configuration ?
