I installed my bbk and now I'm leaking oil. I did some searching and I found out this is common. I opened my valve cover to see a little oil in it but not as much as had been dripping out of my engine. I'm guessing I messed up one of the gaskets by over tightening the bolts on the engine studs. I don't have a torque wrench...maybe I didn't tighten them enough. They were on pretty tight when I took them off. It would be nice if I didn't have to tear into the engine again and order new gaskets. For those of you who had this problem before, what was your solution? Was it just a crushed gasket, misaligned rings? Or was it something worse? No torque wrench? it is highly unlikely you overtightened anything. it is far more likely that the head bolts werent tight enough. Base gaskets are all the same size for 39mm,44mm,47mm,50mm. they are made to fit the case, not the cylinder (only the head gaskets are different) make sure the engine is cold before you hose it down with brake cleaner or you could crack the head/cylinder.

Update: Took it all apart and installed the dowels properly. I installed new gaskets. I fixed the exhaust leak it's no where near as loud now. It's still dripping a tiny bit of oil but no way near as much as before. I have 4.5g weights in it now and it's a beast. Gets to 40mph on the chinometer easily (so what is that, maybe 32?) With plenty of throttle to spare. It's going to rain for the rest if the week so I may not be able to test further but so far so good.
