It's funny... A while back, I went to a forum looking for some trike info I couldn't anywhere. After I had posted, I went back several days later and not even one person had joined it or even worse, nobody even made a post. I felt horrible for these people. I had to go and answer like 20 or so questions for them. (sure some here just cringed at that thought lol!) It's a beautiful site with major potential. But the owners are obviously losers and they are never around. Can you image how long this forum would last if Brent didn't show up, for over a month? lol! I read old posts and saw the owners of it saying in one of them "Sorry they were away for a while but now they were back" And when I joined it, then had been gone yet another month, WTF! lol! So I said to hell with it. and I left. It was like Home Depot, no help and not even one other person around. So... On my way out I threaded in the new members section, telling all new members to get the hell out of there and come on over to 49ccScooot.Com! Lool! Wonder how many are still over there saying "Hello?!" LOL!

Your post will be up there for a couple of months, till the admin comes back lol. The members can really make a forum and we lucky we have some great members here. There are a lot of people here who are willing to spend some of their time helping others Unlike a scooter forum in the U.K. called SS. I have never been a member but seen some really nasty posts from people on there aimed at newbies who just want a simple answer. The normal response is "use the search" The funny thing is when they do you just get the same question with the same answer "use the search" lol

Youtube search "porting 2 stroke". There were videos from 90gtvert that led me here. I love the pics and 2-stroke specialists in here. For finnish people there is very good page for scooter information called www.skootterini.com. Happy scooting!

Google. I actually searched 49cc scoot and said "OMG this is exactly what I'm looking for!!" I think I've only posted once or twice, but this site has been a plethora of knowledge in these first few, very vital, weeks. I'm certain that I would have blown up my engine by now had it not been for all you guys. Not only that but I know what brands to try and which ones are crap. I've got a new japan carb coming and I'm as giddy as a schoolgirl!!!

Such a shame that some sites are so against anything different. I've been through that on classic scooter forums, where Chinese scooter owners get very rude "welcomes". This is also true offline. I went into a real scooter repair shop and asked if he had any slider weights. I won't say the name of the store because I don't want to give him any free brand-recognition, but its in Hampton via on Pembroke ave. He said "you mean rollers?" I said no slider weights kind of like rollers but shaped different and he insisted they don't make themd trade to sell me slides and insisted I didnt know what I was talking about. He asked what kind of bike I said a taotao and before I could say anything else he said it was a price of junk and I should have bought a Honda off of him. Never going back..

A lot of shops won't work on Chinese scoots. Not the first time I've heard of people being told their scoots are junk when they went for repairs or parts. Seems like the shop would be a little more friendly. Even if they only sold you a bit of fuel line or a filter or a bottle of oil something small like that one day in the future, it would still be a sale and more profit then they'll get if they run you off.

Right, like when I go shopping for a 150, I'm not going there. Doesn't even matter if his prices are better, its principle.

Youtube.. I've had bikes since I was 11, and had everything from Honda ct90 to Kawasaki GPZ1100. Nowadays I have a Yamaha 600r "Thundercat" , but I'm going to become a grey nomad. I just want a ride that I can strap to the back of my caravan.. I wante 50cc with a little extra poke, so I started looking at scoots "with mods" and found you.
Love your work. Cheers Geoff.

Thanks. Glad you found us. Let us know what you want/need out of the scooter. What's most important... price, dependability, performance (how fast do you want to go), etc... if you need help getting on the right path.
