Found some old notes on what the mechanic exactly said that he did to my scoot:
1) Installed the new Leo Vince SP3 pipe 2) "bored out the carb" from 12 mm to about 18mm 3) REmoved some "spacer" from the variator (?) 4) Tried installing lighter variator weights, but decided the stock weights were better - but he couldn't recall the details 5) He "phased down the variator" to make it slightly smaller 6) Jetted the carb.
Not sure if that sheds any light on anything?

It does, i understand. If he did bore the carb, that sounds like allot. He removed the "restricter" washer from the vari. By "phasing", i think he modded your vari to comp for the vari washer being gone. And jetting the carb gets a perfect tune for your current setup. Sounds like a good mechanic if he did do all that. Thats a bit more than most would do.

Any special instructions on those that I can forward to him other than "make it fly"?

The air box 190 is referring to is the Motoforce air box or something like it. I've never tried it to know if it works, but it's supposed to keep it pretty quiet without restricting flow. You could also try to get a UNI replacement filter for your stock air box and rejet accordingly. It might make a little difference in power, but that would probably be the quietest option. That Airbox Motoforce seems to have vanished from the Earth - I can't find it available to order anywhere What is a UNI replacement filter?
